Step 2: Casting the stars
- In this step you can select to have any two characters on the stage at a time and you can write a script for them.
To start, click on the button that says, "Add a character on the left" or "Add a character on the right" and you will see 9 characters to choose from.
When you click on a character's box, remember to also click on the button that says, “Choose One” in order to confirm the selection.
Once you’ve selected a character, then you can type in a line of dialogue for him or her (or "it" in the case of the happy lucky thingy.) And remember to click the button that says, "Say this!" before moving on to the next action. Be careful not to make your characters say too much in each line. Speech bubbles are limited to 50 characters.
You can also select to have that character exit the stage so that you can select a different character to enter from that side.
Note that each selection you make will show up in a separate frame at the bottom of the screen. For example, if you select Marty to enter from stage left, there will be a frame indicating Marty’s entrance with a big blue arrow pointing from left to right. If you type "Arf, Arf" in Marty's dialogue entry box, then you will see a frame showing Marty with a speech bubble. You can then "Add a character on the right" – let's say you pick Avery, for example. Avery enters and you can choose to have her carry on a conversation with Marty or you can choose to have Marty "Exit Stage," and then you can select to have another character enter from the left to talk to Avery.
You can always change your mind by deleting the last frame and making another choice or you can click on the "delete all frames" button and start all over again.
When you are done creating the script, hit the Next button.
