HALL TALK
Heads up, dudes! The holidays are comin’ at ya faster than a pass from me on the b-ball court. And you know that’s pretty fast! With all the cool gear in store windows for you to drool over around this time of year (like those rockin’ orange soccer cleats I spotted yesterday!), it’s easy to forget that it’s supposed to be all about the GIVING, not just the gear.
See, my mom is really into charity and volunteer stuff, and we have this tradition in our family of all doing a community service project together around the holidays. Like, last year when my brother Tim came home from college, we all went and wrapped presents for the kids at a women’s shelter. I’m def not the world’s greatest gift-wrapper—mine ended up looking like it was attacked by a tape monster!—but my mom told me that it didn’t have to be perfect. All that matters is that I gave it the Avery Madden 110%!
This year, I think my family is going work in a soup kitchen for an afternoon. It’s not always easy to help other people, but you always end up feeling way better than before you lent a hand!
Later,
My class and I are going to the retirement apartments next to our school and sing Christmas carols, and give canned foods.
for thankgiving i am going to pick up litter around my neighborhood
and enourage people who have nothing to do to go work at the soup kitchen
and give food and make cards for homeless children
I'm going to be knitting scarves for the nursing homes. It's a great way to spread some good cheer to people who need happiness in their lives. I hope I can make a difference in their lives someday.

Usually my family will go for a Harley-Davidson drive a couple of months before Christmas. Everybody drives out with their motorcycles and everyone brings a gift for charity! Some people bring these HUGE stuffed animals and ride with them, and we get to throw candy to the people while we're driving out of the city!!! It's super fun!!

during christmas this year, my friend and i will go and sing chrismas carols to raise money for children in need and to help the earth.
This holiday season I'll probably donate toys and clothes I don't play with or use anymore to a charlty. Also at my school we collect canned foods for the poor. It's extremely important to help out the less fortunate people in the world.

last year durring the hollidays, i wrote an artical in my scool newspaper about helping durring the hollidays. such as donating food, clothing, or money to help a local shelter. a famous way to donate is in the bucketts outside the supermarket that they have. and writing about these things in things like scool newspapers surely helps spread the news to the comunity. helping durring the holliday makes you feel special.
When my family goes shopping for Christmas lights I will ask them to get energy saving lights.They would save more energy than regular Christmas lights.
We can have tons and tons of fun during the holidays, but just take a few minutes to think about whats our towns going to look like when every one has gone back to school??? And what harm will it cause to our enviroment.
1. Lots of us hang out at the beach having yummy frozen ice pops, but after that we trash the empt packaging on the floor. WHAT YOU CAN DO: When you go to the beach remember to carry around a handy packet so you can put your dirt in. As wel as the left over rubbish on the sand.
Also a great tip is to pick up litter where ever you go even if it is not the holidays.
My mom always does these jumbo sized pretzel sticks and then she covers it with melted chocolate and then puts it in the freezer until they are hard. And then we give them to are neighbors or friends for the holidays! And sometimes at church we'll make ornaments and then are church will give them to charity.
To help out I will help with the tree and the decorations.I would also buy some gifths so my mom and dad wont have to spend all there money.

I will recycle the christmas tree and re-use wrapping paper and stick to a budget for buying things and i will make a lot of the presents
