It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a frisbee?

QUESTION:
What do labradoodles, mermaids, and sandwiches have in combination?

ANSWER:
All of them are hybrids—mixes of two other things!
The point here is that some of the COOLEST things mankind has ever invented have been hybrids—the coolest parts of two parents.

Well, I am super-psyched to tell you all about one more very cool hybrid—FROLF—in my favorite category of all … sports!

What is it?
Frolf is the name…or disc golf is the name… or Frisbee golf is the name. Well, whatever the name, the game is the same. It’s a hybrid of—that’s right, you guessed it—golf and Frisbee. The object of the game is the same as golf—to get the ball in the target in as few moves as possible. Unlike golf, there is no ball, there’s a Frisbee. And unlike golf the target is not a teeny-tiny hole, but a large metal basket with hanging chains to catch the discs.
Where did it come from?
Frolf as we know it today started in the 1960’s in California. “Steady Ed” Headrick made many contributions to the game. Steady Ed was the mastermind behind the circular ridges on a Frisbee so the disc is more stable when airborne. He was also the inventor of the disc golf basket, used in frolf courses all over the country.
Who plays frolf?

Men, women, and children! Anyone can play frolf! The 18-hole courses are usually in open, grassy parks, but if you want to kick it up a notch there are also more challenging courses in semi-wooded areas.

Can I play?
Yup! Basically frolf is a wicked fun way to spend your afternoon. If you aren’t quite a golf pro yet, but like the idea of chillaxing outside and playing a casual sport with your friends, make your own FROLF course and go for it!

you tell us ...
Can you think of another hybrid of two sports that would be super fun to play?

Yep! It is a game me and my friends made up. Its called Hannah ball. Hannah ball is a game where people draw a stick and whatever Hannah Montana song is on the stick, the person has to sing the chorus of that song. Then they get to try to get a home run by hitting a baseball. Its tons of fun and if you want to try it, you can just use popsicle sticks.

Ding ball- You sing a song or dance to a dance and if you get the lyrics or dance right you kick the ball and get to a base.
TV Tag- you say a tv show and you cant repeat it and if you repeated or if you were to slow they tag you and your out.

Ding ball--a sport all about dancing and singing? That sounds like something Maeve would loooooooove!

me and my friend invented a game called tableball.
How to play it:
you have a ping-pong table
and a small soccer ball
and u push, bunch, and other moves that u can think of
but the objects of the game is that u can't let the ball on the ground for the other team.

hope's this helps
hercperc

That sounds wicked fun! I wouldn't play it around anything breakable, though. Knowing me, I'd def knock over like a vase or something while I've diving for the ball!

There was one sport I saw on TV called 'hurling'. It was kind of freaky, but it was hockey, baseball, soccer, and football. What would that be called instead of hybrid?
P.S. could that count as a weird sport, too?

Hurling is def a weird sport, but also a really awesome one!
