See if you can talk to the coach, and find out what skills he's looking for in a player. And of course, practice as much as you can on your own, or with your friends!! Don't be afraid to try out for the team - you'll never know how good you are until you try!

I need to ask your advice on a problem I'm having with a 'friend'.
I just finished seventh grade. In sixth grade, I made this really good friend. We both had the same beliefs and interests.
This year, she totally changed. She swears all the time and says suggestive things. Her opinions have changed completely. It seems like I don't even know her anymore and all my other friends agree that she is not the same as she used to be.
She still thinks that we're friends, but I don't consider her one. How do I tell her that I don't think our friendship can last anymore?

When you practice at home, try to to get a crowd to watch you (your family, or some friends), so that you're used to playing in front of an audience. When you have the tryout at school, take deep breaths, relax, and smile. When you smile, you feel more confident, and when you feel confident, I think you'll make that basket with no problem!!

You could try to show how responsible you are by doing some regular chores around the house (like doing this dishes, taking out the trash, helping with the laundry, etc.). If you show your parents you can handle these tasks, they might think you're ready for a pet!

After I did score the goal, she was really angry. Now, whenever we play a sport she is nice and plays fair with all the other kids, but it's a different story when I play.
