Queens of Mean

It's Katani. Dealing with QOM (that's short for Queens of Mean) can be a hassle, and EVERY school has them. Right now you can probably think of at least one girl you know who fits the QOM description, am I right? Abigail Adams Junior High has Anna and Joline as reigning QOM, that's for sure.

But you know what? There are lots of ways you can try to get along with—and maybe even become FRIENDS with—the QOM at your school. I know what you're thinking: "Is she kidding?" Girl, I am not. And to prove it, here is a Kgirl list of four ways to deal with those mean girls.

Do the things you love to do. Don't let the QOM (or anyone else!) convince you that your interest in, say, table tennis isn't cool. That's what makes you unique!

Keep some perspective. Remember that QOM put other people down because they might actually feel bad about themselves. Makes you feel a little better to look at it that way, right?

Don't participate in gossip. This might seem obvious, but just like you don't deserve to be gossiped about, other girls don't either. And that includes the QOM.

Talk to a trusted adult. Your mom, your grandma, a teacher—anyone you usually go to for good advice can help you out here.

Just ignore them and act like they don't bother you. Being mean back isn't going to solve anything. Just ignore them, they'll get bored, and leave you alone. If the teasing and insults gets out of hand, tell an adult. No one deserves to be treated badly.

But if she forgets about you, then she isn't really your friend! But after class u apoligize 2 the nerdy kid and say it was all in good efforts, trust me. It work most of the time 4 me, try it, especially if you want to stick up for somebody like your BFF! Good luck! C what i mean by, if you can't get thru 2 them, try.... almost like reverse physcology... sorta. TTYL!

U can't even get me to stop about the QOM at my school. We call them Poptarts(girls) and Gotarts(boys, though ther aren't 2 many of them). They think they're all that because they have beach houses, cell phones, boyfriends, can wear make-up, and be snobby and all that. i ignore them but seriously,like half of the girl population in 7th grade are QOM! they have 3 leaders then like a zillion tools(hope u know what that is). This is how i would deal with them.I would try to ignore them and if they still be mean to you you should tell the principle and he/she will take care of it for you. He/she will probaly talk to their parents.

How I deal with the QOM is just ignore them. The QOM at my school has not liked me since 3rd grade and dates all my guy friends to make me feel bad because then she's always with me but, I be nice to her and treat her like a friend because even though she's mean doesn't mean that she isn't human. She actually can be nice but, only without her 'posse' around. I think she just wants a ego boost everyonce in a while but, she doesn't need to get it that way. smilies/kiss.gif

at my school we didnt have all this if you had a club because you think you all that you would have to put everybody in club if you like it are not if didnt like it you couldnt make a club any more.my auntie tought me you dont have to be in a club to look cute and she tought me that dont let your friends pick you you pick your friends and she also said that clubs cant send you to the next grade maybe they might be in the next grabe when you in the same grade you in,if you pick your friends you and your friend will go to the next grade
