Promises, Promises - Book 5

Vote! Vote! Vote! Class elections at Abigail Adams Junior High are underway, and the Beacon Street Girls are in the middle of it all! As the drama escalates, election posters begin to disappear. Katani is really worried. Could someone very close to her be responsible? "And why," asks Charlotte, "is everyone so competitive?"

That's not all. Mr. Popular, Dillon Johnson, is running too, and he's making big promises. Can he keep them? Henry Yurt, aka the Yurtmeister, has plastered smiley face posters all over the school that are too silly for words or ... maybe not.

I can really understand all the election craziness, because I have ran against friends more than once. Luckily, things didn't get a crazy as with the BSG, but there was a lot of tension. When I ran against my BFF in student council, and got the position of treasurer for the 1st time ever, and my BFF got bumped off student council, and she wasn't on like she had been for the past 2 years. She felt like I had been reponsible for taking her off the council, but I listened to her and gave her my sympathy, which helped get our friendship back on track! In the real world, not everyone can win, and I feel proud of both myself, my friends, and the BSG for doing things so well!

	I liked this Bsg book cuz it showed what being freinds iz all about. Ave and Katini did get a little out of control though--- OK a LOT. I remember when my Bffs were fighting.... i just treid 2 stay nuetral, just like iz,char, and maeve. I can totally relate 2 this book even though it is not my fave.

	Well, Promises,Promises is wonderfyl and I agree that everyone will be competitive if the half good and half bad guys are running. Awesome! I can't believe Haley Yurt would steal the posters! That must have been terrible to go through! I liked when Katani Avery found out the were both running. I know what it feels like, since both of my bffs ran for Vice President. Luckily, neither won. I'm happy they (and you guys, too!) are still friends. Is it weird having Henry Yurt for president? Katani, what is it like having your grandma for a principal??

Yeah, Katani is never shown as a very likable charecter. I want to like her, I really do, but she seems snobby and organized and mean! smilies/sad.gif

If Katani ever gets her own book,I want to read it so I can see the true side of her.
