The Queens of Mean try to take over again! Today, in Mrs. Rodriguez’s class, we were talking about what we should be for Halloween, until Anna and Joline laughed and said that we are too old for dressing up! Just because we are in junior high doesn’t mean we can’t go trick-or-treating! Dressing up is so fun, and I love sharing candy with my friends. So, Katani, Avery, Isabel, Maeve and I thought we’d do a little of both this year—a little door-to-door trick or treating, AND plan a super fun Halloween scavenger hunt! That way, we get the best of both Halloween worlds!
First, the BSG and I made a list of things that we could find while we were out trick-or-treating—like a broom, candy corn, a black cat, or an un-carved pumpkin. Then, Halloween night, we’ll try to check all of those things off the list as we walk our trick or treating route! I can’t wait to see everyone enjoying Halloween. Katani is going to make the BSG's costumes but we are all going to help. We called a special meeting in the tower and agreed to do a Wizard of OZ theme (it was really Maeve’s idea of course). I am the scarecrow, Maeve is Dorothy, Katani is the tin man, Avery is the lion, and our little Mr. Martay is Toto! Oh, and Isabel is Glinda, the good witch.
Maeve typed out all the items on scavenger hunt list on her computer, and here is what we came up with so far:
Black cat
Cornstalks
Broom
Candy Corn
Candy apple
Two un-carved pumpkins
Scarecrow (besides my costume!)
A witch costume
A ghost costume
A pirate costume
I am so glad that I stuck up for Halloween, especially since my friends helped me do it. You can even do a scavenger hunt of your own in your neighborhood! Make up your own list, and try it out with your friends!
You Tell Us ...
What would your Halloween Scavenger Hunt list look like? Or, do you think you ARE too old for Halloween?
My brother is wierd is says he is way to old for halloween and easter, since he is in 12th grade but I dont think so. Its my family's tradition for everyone to celebrate, and he made me cry las easter because every time we told him to wake up, he'd just fall asleep again. He's supposed to get the high eggs, not my dad! Then he stole some of my eggs WITHOUT ASKING!!!!
No, I don't think you're too old for going trick-or-treating. It's fun to get dressed up. Try to make a really neat costume with a couple of friends. This year I was a blue cotton candy and my friend was a pink cotton candy. How cool is that? I'm only in fourth grade but I think you should trick-or-treat forever unless you change your mind and think you're too old for it.
No I am not too old for Halloween!Im only in fifth grade!By the way if you dont want to wear a costume for trick or treating just wear a mask.Nobody is too old for that.
I think your not to old for Halloween.Somtimes I think to myself about dressing up in my costume at school and then every one laughs at you but I know that will never happen.
I really love to trick-or-treat Charlotte. But, unfortunately.. my mom thinks that we're too old and thus i'm not allowed to trick or treat anymore!!! I was so devistated, but this year was the worst of all because i had to stay home for halloween and hand out candy! the kids were nice but i got tired of getting up every 5 seconds to hand out candy.. gosh :I
i dont think anyone is 2 old for trick or treatling and im almost 14 i like 2 go wit ma friendz its funner nd i just like 2 go for da candy nd 2 b wit ma friendz lolz

i think its a cool list because kids who dont go trick or treating would want to go trick now because of this list all these things kids m,ight not have this stuff today
Um, may I make a statement? My mom is 28 and she dressed up as a vampire this year so if thats not enough proof than i don't know what will be. Charlotte is sooooooooooooooo cool!
I am in 3rd grade and I don't think that I'm too old for dressing up and neither are you girls. The Queens of Mean need to get a life or get out in my opinion.
