I ♥ the BSG books. I know how hard it is to be a new girl. I've been a new girl 3times. not counting kindergarten. I had a tough time adjusting and making new friends. I'm in middle school right now and i kept my old friends from elementry school and i'm still struggling trying to adjust to the school and new people. Unfortunately, you can't force someone to hang out with you, but you can make a point to talk to him more. You might create a different kind of friendship than he has with those other girls. But, don't try to change yourself to hang out with him. Maeve always tells me to "keep being you and the right boy will come along!"

Hi Charlotte, out of all the BSG, I am probably most like you. I love to write, travel, stargaze, and read, and I know what it's like to be "the new girl"... believe me! But I think I'm a lot like Maeve and Isabel too, actually, I think I'm like ALL of the BSG combined. How do you get over "writer's block?" and how do you deal with people who are jealous of you for getting good grades? I have those problems!

When I get writer's block, I like to get up and move around and do something else for a few minutes. Then, when I come back to whatever it is I'm doing, I have a fresh perspective!
As far as people being jealous of good grades, remember that doing well in school is NOTHING to be ashamed of, and don't let anyone make you feel differently.

First of all, keep reminding yourself that, yeah, it will be scary at first and you probably will make some mistakes, and you may even feel like a total outsider. But, all that is TEMPORARY. The best thing you can do is make it your goal to ADAPT. Realize that it's not going to be like your old school, so go in with an open mind.
About the language, you'll find that once you HAVE to use it to communicate, you learn much faster. Plus, many people speak English in Paris. Good luck!

Sure! When you visit a new country, it's important to read up on the culture, because sometimes, stuff that seems normal to us here in the States is NOT normal in other parts of the world. And, of course, just be friendly and flexible and stay close to your tour guide!

Dear Charlotte, I went to Paris a few times. Isn't it cool when the Eifel tower lights up at night? Also, I had breakfast on a boat tour of the river, and lots more! P.S I saw a lot of stray cats, and one looked a lot like Orangina! P.S.S I went up the Eifel tower to the highest floor we could go to, and even though I have verdigo, it was cool!
Hey BSG, I am new in town and I love to read your books. Then i tolled some of the kids at school about you guys. they thoght it was a baby .com but when i tolled them to try it i became on of the popular girls in my school. thanks for every thing.

Oh, no. This is never an easy situation, but you're right. You've got to stand up for yourself! Keep in mind that the best way to let her know how you feel is to TELL her clearly. Trying to show her in different ways doesn't always work and might make the both of you upset. Good luck!
