Writer's block can be so tough sometimes! The best way to beat it is to get up and do something else for a few minutes. Take a quick walk, complete another task, or call your BFF -- anything to get your mind of whatever you're writing about. Then, after that short break, your mind should feel refreshed. Who knows? You might gain some new perspective in those few minutes!
hey charlotte, you have inspired me so much! i want to be a writer someday too. my teachers always say i have beautiful writing, so last year i decided to write a mini story. my friends said it was great, but when i gave it to my teacher,she did not rerally like it. i felt kindda sad, but then i read about you and jennifer and was ok. i knew that everything could not be perfect, and that not everyone likes everything that you do.

That's great! If you believe in your writing, then you can only improve. Teachers will give you great suggestions on how to make your writing even better. There's always stuff to learn!
And, frenemies can be tough. No need to avoid them all the time, just remember who your TRUE friends are when you're facing a tough time.
Charlotte, How do you get your writing inspiration? I write songs and startings of books that I want to publish someday and sometimes I get stuck! So, I need some ideas on how to get some inspiration!!!

I get most of my writing inspiration by going out on my balcony with a big blanket and just looking at the stars. That's when I let my mind wander and think about the things that are most important to me. You can find inspiration by going to a special place (like me!) or just by observing the world around you. Sometimes, when I'm out to eat or at the grocery store with my dad, I'll notice people as they walk by and make up a story about their lives. So, inspiration can come from everywhere -- just open up your eyes to it!

Good question! I've loved all the places I've lived in for different reasons. There's Paris, which was so lovely and sophisticated. There's Tanzania, which was wild and adventurous. And then there's Port Douglas in Australia, which was so laid-back and beautiful. So, I love them all -- and now, I get to be in Brookline with the BSG!

Congrats on starting a new sport! This is the PERFECT time to meet people and make new friends. Of course you won't know anybody at first, but by being a team player, you'll get to know your teammates in record time! If you already have a BFF on the team, try making friends together!

What a nasty thing to say! Many times, mean-spirited kids like that say horrible things just to get a REACTION. I know -- dumb, right? So, the best way to stand up to him is not to deny it loudly and make a big fuss, but to just IGNORE him. Hold your head up high and be confident that YOU know it's not true. Once he sees that he won't get a reaction out of you, he might lay off. Either way, you should tell your teacher exactly what he's saying, so he or she can give him a stern talking-to and make him stop!
Dear Charlotte, I was at borders and i really wanted the first book. I couldn't get it so i just got all the time I had and read up to 2 and a half chapters of the first book. I really like the book up to that time i really want to read the whole thing.

I love your name! I definitely felt sad when I left Paris, but I looked at it like a new adventure! New people and places are so fun. Old friends and familiar scenery are things you can remember in your mind and in your heart. I remember Paris by writing to my friend Sophie and thinking about all the fun memories I have of the city. But, now Brookline is my home, and I love it here!

For me, my best writing comes out when I really feel inspired. When I have a great idea or when I'm sitting out on my balcony looking at the stars, the words just spill out. I also love wearing my mom's old jean jacket when I write -- sometimes, I think it helps me concentrate.
Another tip is to write many drafts. Professional writers don't just write something once and be done with it! Usually, they go through many different versions until they've found the right one.

Hi! To get the best clothes for your shape, you have to try everything on! First, I recommend finding a store that has jeans that fit you really well. Then, try some tops in that same store. If you can find a store with a good pair of jeans for YOU, you're all set!

I am so sorry to hear about your aunt. A death in the family is never easy. The important thing is to keep talking to your parents or trusted adults or BFFs about how you feel. Sometimes, it helps to tell fun stories about your aunt -- you know, good memories. That way, you can celebrate her life and how much she meant to you in a POSITIVE way that helps you heal.
2 girls I danced with last year got in a car accident 2 day's ago. One of them's in a coma. It's medically induced but still she hasn't woken up since the accident. I feel really sad. I don't know what to do.

Traveling all over the world is pretty crazy, but I've gotten used to it over the years! My dad and I always start each vacation with a sense of adventure! Museums and ancient ruins and things are really interesting, but what my dad and I do is try to experience the REAL local culture in each place we visit. Like, we'll sit in a cafe that doesn't attract a lot of tourists, and just people-watch and observe all the things going on. It's amazing how different -- and yet how similar -- people are around the world!
dear charrlotte, i know that you misss your mom alot and i feel the same way about my cat whiskers and my dold dog shadow. they both had to be put to sleep so i know how it feels but i just miss them. how can i feel better about where they have gone please answer back,

I feel the same way about Orangina, my Parisian cat! He ran away before my dad and I moved back to the United States, but I think about him all the time. Sometimes, I'll make up a little story about him or draw him on a piece of paper -- I'm not as good an artist as my friend, Isabel, but that doesn't matter! I also like to think about all the happy times we had together. Those nice memories make me miss Orangina less.

Hey Char! You seem to get embarassed every time you are klutzy. I am 20 times worse then you, believe me. Imean, not at the embarassed part, the klutz factor. For instance, today I fell down a flight of stairs at my school during passing period. After I could tell I was okay I sarted cracking up because it must have looked hilarious. My favorite thing to do in Paris is see the Eiffel Tower at night. They have these lights that twinkle, and it's fun to lie in the park nearby and just watch the lights and the stars in the background. It is so beautiful!

Hey there Charlotte, I love your books! I really need your advice. Just like you I love to write. So one day I purposed to a teacher that we start a school newspaper. She thought that it was a great idea, but when we went to the principle he said that if our school was going to have a paper the Student Council would have to run it. We were supposed to have a meeting with the Student Council to see if if would be OK if another group ran the paper, but then my principal just sort of forgot about it. You want to be a best-selling author? Me too! I hear it takes a lot of hard work, but I’m totally up for it. I asked Ms. Rodriguez about how to become an author, and she told me to read, read, READ everything I possibly can in all genres of books, but especially the genre you want to write for. So, if you want to write books for teens, get a head start by reading books from leading teen book series from today and from the past, too.
I think you are the coolest BSG member! How was Paris? I have only read up to book 9, but I am looking forward to finding book 10. Did you know that, I had to travel all the way to Washington D.C. to find book number 9! I guess your author really does a good job in writing books.
