Secret Crushes

Dear Journal,

We were having a Tower sleepover the other night when Maeve brought up the one subject that always makes me feel tingly all the way down to my toes: Nick Montoya—aka, my super-secret sorta crush. I know I must have turned 50 different shades of red. I mean, it can be fun to talk about Nick with the BSG, but it can also be SOOOO embarrassing! And you won’t believe what Maeve was saying. She actually thinks I should…get ready for this…ASK HIM OUT!

Of course my first reaction was no no no no NO! No way am I ready for that. And then, when I thought about it some more, my reaction was still NO. Hanging out with Nick is so much fun, and I definitely don’t want things to get weird. We always have an awesome time just kicking a soccer ball around or even working on a school project together! I’m afraid that if I bring up the whole ‘I like you’ issue, things will get messed up.

And you know what? I’m totally OK with feeling like that. I think it’s cool that Maeve would be brave enough to just walk up to her crush and ask him out, but that’s sooo not me. I just want to take it slow and see what happens naturally. For now, the only crush I want to hear about is the one between Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth from Pride and Prejudice!

You should only ask him out if you're comfortable with that! I remember one time I really liked this guy and my friends told me to ask him out and I said NO!!! Turns out my friends asked him out for me behind my back and he said he'd been dying to know if I liked him and now he knew I did! So if you don't wanna ask him out get a friend to for you!!! Or if you wanna take it slow then start hanging out with him and if you still like him after that then ASK HIM OUT!!!!!

Ringette is kind of Canadian...i think they have it in the U.s. but it was created in Canada. I play ringette for both...I play on a team in a top level league but it is so much fun! I met me bff in ringette...but she moved to California a while ago. But im going to visit her in like 4 days!!I go there three times a year to visit her. Well, yes and no. no is because if you like him that much, why hide it? I like a guy, and I felt that way about him, and all my friends were dropping hints and it was TOTALLY embaressing! But if you tell him, think about it; is it really worth risking your friendship? In that same situation, the guy i liked told me on his own. Let things happen naturally, but keep in mind that if you like him that much, than the right thing to do may be to just tell him. In the end, it's your choice.

OMG that's harsh! I thought i had problems with getting a cell phone! This was ICANSING2's advice 2 me: Tell Your Parents this:

1. I'm ready to take the responsibility.
2. it will actually benefit your parents! They can always connect to you in case of an emergency.
3. Say that you know it will be another bill...but that you will be willing to help out around the house to help pay for it.
4. Say that you know that you're a little young...but maybe that they should get you not an expensive phone and it could be like training wheels...sy that if you're responsible enough, suggest to them to get you a better one when you're twelve.
5. Maybe you could even write down the pros and cons of having a phone.

He might think you're dropping some hints. Then when you think he likes you, like if he's constantly asking puestions about you or talking to you like your really good friends, then is the right time (of course like in the park of just playing soccer) to just casually ask him out. Just do it like your asking a simple question.

P.S. I tried doing alt and 3 at the same time and then letting go, but it didnt work. Maybe it just works on mac computers or something. Mine's a PC. There's this thing that i can do on mac computers that makes all the colors on the computer screen go the opposite of what they normally are. Like purple is green. But I cant do it on PC computers. If you have enough guts, you should just ask him out on a fun date, or maybe go on a no-pressure, group "date" that won't feel to datey. P.S. I KNOW for a FACT that my dad would go balistic if he found out I had a crush on anyone. OK, he might not go BALISTIC, but he will start going into his rant about how I used 2 b his "Lttle, Little" (UGH! HOW EMBARRASSING!) and how I'm growing up so fast. And then he'll get mad at me and say that I can't date until I'm 15. And I'll say that I dont want to date yet. But he wont listen. And then we'll get into a fight and I hate it when we fight and well I think you get the point.

You do what ever you want. If I were in your position I would Keep it half seceret(I know strange). Write itdown in a private diary...so you can get your feelings off your shoulders. Or tell someone who you trust...mom, sister, or even a friend. You know they wont critizize you. After a while when you comfortable...tell him. You dont have to face to face(you can if you want) write a note and stick it in his desk or locker. Or do the old ask your friend to ask his friend. BUt do whatever you feel is right. Remember...If he dosent like you...someone else will. Hope that helps!!
