Secret Crushes

Dear Journal,

We were having a Tower sleepover the other night when Maeve brought up the one subject that always makes me feel tingly all the way down to my toes: Nick Montoya—aka, my super-secret sorta crush. I know I must have turned 50 different shades of red. I mean, it can be fun to talk about Nick with the BSG, but it can also be SOOOO embarrassing! And you won’t believe what Maeve was saying. She actually thinks I should…get ready for this…ASK HIM OUT!

Of course my first reaction was no no no no NO! No way am I ready for that. And then, when I thought about it some more, my reaction was still NO. Hanging out with Nick is so much fun, and I definitely don’t want things to get weird. We always have an awesome time just kicking a soccer ball around or even working on a school project together! I’m afraid that if I bring up the whole ‘I like you’ issue, things will get messed up.

And you know what? I’m totally OK with feeling like that. I think it’s cool that Maeve would be brave enough to just walk up to her crush and ask him out, but that’s sooo not me. I just want to take it slow and see what happens naturally. For now, the only crush I want to hear about is the one between Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth from Pride and Prejudice!

	Yes because the person who likes Nick maybe be mad at you like Maeve she maybe be mad at you because of the date and she used to like him so just keep it real ad quiet.If you tell somebody that you can't trust then don't tell them because they will start romars and then Maeve or some other girl who likes him will be mad so just keep it real or keep it quiet.

YEAH TOTALLY!!! That's why they're called secret crushes. Sometimes there is someone you like but your friends would just laugh if you even started to talk about him or if you're shy then you may not want to tell anybody (even your BFFS). You would probably keep him a secret. I would probably wait to tell him because things could get weird. If you are completly positive he likes you go for it. Or you could use that old ask your friend to ask his friend trick to find out. Just make sure you are ready to go out with him if he asks you out and you have already told him u like him. There's nothing wrong with holding back like ur doing now cause that is what i would do. Like u i wouldn't want to ruin my friendship with him. Boy stuff can be so hard!!!!

well i dont think it is okay to keep a secret crush. i mean i did once and i went to a sleep over and we were talking about boys we like and i told some very good friends i thought i could trust. but it turned out i should have kept my mouth shut. the next week i was talking to the boy i liked on aim and a rummor had gotten out that we were going out wich was so not true and we used to be pretty good friends but that whole thing ruend it. tells u about some of ure friends only tell the good great ones ure secret!!! =(

I honestly have been in that situation but i like didnt tell him because i was scared and now that i look back on it I wish i had because I think letting him know would have been better than avoiding him because i stuttered around him. And that was it he was a very good friend and by not talking to him and letting him know he thought i was mad at him and we got in a fight but now he forgave me and we are friends now and i still sorta kinda like him but he has a gf and i do not want to get in the middle of that but Charlotte go ahead and tell him it will all work out in the end!!!!

	Charlotte, I think it's ust fine 2 keep your crush a secret. Just know that if no one knows, they might hurt your feelings on accident. I once really liked a guy but never told anyone, but then he asked out one of my best friends. And she said yes. She had no clue that I liked him too, and that she had really hurt me. It was really hard 2 get over that. So just know, there are risks either way.

I think it is definitely okay to keep a secret crush secret. I told my crush that I liked him and then things got weird. It's so bad that now we only talk once or twice a month!! I would definitely just let him find out for himself. I do you that you should hang out with him more and then he may start to get an idea the smart way. Do NOT do what I did. Well, I think you should come clean with Nick. I know you don't want to but, I think you should. If y'all become BF and GF, YIPPEE!!! But don't get all mushy, just hang out like you normally would. Every once and a while, go to the movies and share a popcorn. Or, go to a restaurant and talk about the things you normally talk about. But, instead of going on dates all the time, just do the things you normally do. For example, kick the soccer ball around, and take a hike through the woods. Have a friend talk to him about it and see what they think on whether or not he likes you. My friend did that and he likes me! Totally. Infact I had some over the past and was friends with that guy when i liked him. What i read based on the books it seemed like he likes you back. Remember in the first book when he was going to kiss you. So just treat him like you would to a normal friend(for example Chelsea)and then maybe you will be together one day. My advice is treat him as you would fro any other friend.And if you wanted to get closer(aka better friends) with Nick than ask him to go with the movies with you or meet up at his parent's cafe or something like that.
