Hi, this is Charlotte. Sometimes, when I get writer's block, I like to use a story prompt to get the creative juices flowing. The prompt below is one of my favorites because it's about two of my favorite things, winter and mysteries! Can you write an ending to this story starter?
A Winter Mystery
The sun filtered through a frozen canopy of snow-covered trees as my best friend and I walked down the path by the old railroad tracks. Winter has always been my favorite season, and I could think of nowhere I’d rather be than outside with my BFF on the morning after a big snow storm.
I was about to tell Emma my thoughts when something made me stop suddenly.
"Have you seen that path before?" I asked Emma.
She shook her head, then pointed to a trail of little imprints in the snow – tracks!
"They lead off into the deep woods," Emma whispered.
We didn't have to ask each other what to do next. We both turned down the unknown path into the sunlit forest, following the tracks...
