Dear Jill, hi will you answer my question[s]? What are signs of puberty? I get acne attacks is that a sign?
Jill: There are many signs of puberty, and acne can be one of them. I suggest talking with your mom and doctor about this. Your mom can talk to you about when she started puberty, and she might be able to answer some of your questions. Your doctor can tell you which signs of puberty you have now, and which ones you can look forward to in the future. Puberty is a special time for all girls, and it is a special time for you too!
Hi Jill please help me i have some questions I am 12 (going to be 13 in November) but thing is i have not started my period! I mean i have been talking my mom and i have all the signs but i have had those signs for 2 years Now! I know its not a fun thing but i hate this. i think getting your period is not as worse then waiting for it! Help!
Jill: It sounds like you have many signs of puberty—but not your period! That must be very confusing. I suggest that you and your mom talk to your doctor about this. She or he can probably give you an explanation, and also tell you when you can expect to get your period. It sounds like this will most likely be in the near future! I know it’s hard, but try to be patient!
I am going in 4th grade. some of the girls i have as friends i have seen almost have training bras and i don't... (almost) i am also worried about my period even though i am only 9, i am still freaking out. my mom told me that when i get it i will have cramps... i have pains where my chest is and i guess that is ok. i don't wanna be the only girl left without a bra, it will be embarrassing! i might be the only one in the fifth grade or sixth grade with my period because my doctor told me that in eight teen months, i am gonna get my period!! I got a book about my changing body but i read it in one day and my bff has a better one... and she has a bra!! i hope people wont think i am a freak but they r coming... idk!! plz help
Jill: Puberty can be a very confusing time. It sounds like on one hand, you don’t wear a bra, but on the other hand, your doctor said that you’ll be getting your period in around 18 months! The thing is, everyone has a different body, and everyone develops at a different rate. Have you talked to your mom about this? She might be able to help you figure out when you do need a bra. Remember, when the time comes, you will get your period at exactly the right time for you!
