BSG Board Game!

katie_wyatt_100.jpgHi, my name is Katie, and I have just read Beacon Street Girls book #4, Out of Bounds by Annie Bryant. I really enjoyed the book so I have made a board game of the story. Watch my video below!

Plot: The BSG’s school wanted to have a student talent show, but a leak in the auditorium caused the show to be canceled. Maeve, Charlotte, Isabel, Katani, and Avery wanted to have it the local Movie House instead. Unfortunately, Movie House was closing down. To save the Movie House and the show, the girls raised money by selling tickets to the talent show. The plan was hatched at Montoya’s Bakery, a favorite hang-out. An advertisement for their big idea to save the Movie House was placed in the window of Irvings’ Toy & Card Shop and news cameras came to film the event. During the story, several kids got sent to the principal’s office for sabotaging the big idea. The girls saved the talent show, but will they save the Movie House?

My Game: I looked at lots of games to see which one would be the best for for the Out of Bounds story. As you will see, my game is similar to Chutes and Ladders.

1. The game has six pieces representing the five girls and Marty the dog.

2. My game is based in Brookline, one of the alleyways is Beacon Street, and the main street is Commonwealth Avenue. There are also special places on the board that represent Montoya’s Bakery, Irving's Toy & Card Shop, and Principal Fields' office.

3. The plot of my game matches the plot of the book as you have to sell tickets and save the movie house.

4. The object of the game is to save the movie house, but you will have to read the book to see how that ends.
