thx tea house moon ur preety much the only one whos talked to me if u want can u vote 4 my ideas in the whats your club section what play are u in right know
Have you ever been in a situation where you are in a play on a school night and when you go home you scrub all the makeup off your face, but then you wake up and it is still there and won't come off? That happened to a bunch of girls (including me) at my school. There is a rule against make up at my school, so we went to school wearing mascara and lipstick. We looked really wierd and all the boys looked at us strangely, like we all had 6 heads or something!
I love the song Hot Luch from Fame! Whats up with the really long intro music? We did it at my school and the girl did a really good job (better than the original by a lot)!
i love acting and talking 2 u guys but the comments take forever to shoe up if u have the same prob go to whats ur club and vote on page one it was my idea we should have a club like that im so happy to have a drama club swimdude we were praticly seperated at birth i love 2 act and when i do that with my friends they get mad but alot of ppl encourage me to act
Has anyone here (other than BooButterfly because I know she has) watched Legally Blonde the Musical:Search for the nest Elle Woods? It's AWESOME!! Yesterday I saw it on TV, and my mom (who I called into the room, because she loves the movie Legally Blonde) and we thought it was so cool. I learned alot about the business, just by watching it. Like, how sometimes you might not be what the director was looking for, even if you were good, or that even if you are tired you still have to work hard. What do you think? I thought that the one girl who the guy thought was "a hit" was terrible! -Tea_House_Moon
BooButterfly- Okay, so my dad was flipping through the channels yesterday, adn I saw the Legally Blonde: Search for the next Elle Woods on!! I pretty much grabbed the tv remote from my dad and was a like, Turn it on! I loved it!! I would be so nervous singing "so much better" infront of all of those judges, especially the big broadway guy! Who do you think will win? I LOVE Wicked!!! -Tea_house_moon
enyone have eny tips on acting i do i can pretend to cry reallly well if i consentrate hard anough thin actule tears will come and to make my face reed i just hold my breath the hole sene
its so cool to talk to people who appreciate acting like me a lot of my friends think its stupid buts so fun pretending to be some one else and all your troboles are being lifted
Tea_House_Moon, YAH it is hosted by Haylie Duff!!! I ♥L♥O♥V♥E♥ the show it is soooooooo awesome! P.S. I just had a birthday sleepover and I got the Wicked Soundtrack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am soooooooooo happy!! Do you like Wicked?
Sorry I mean I agree with Balletdancer on Artcub5's post. Im on a medcine that makes me drowsy, beacuse I broke my finger yesterday! Me, my sister (cheerleader007) and friends (my sister plays Chava and my 4 friends play Yente, Golde, Motel and Perchik) after the dress rehersel where walking to my house to have pizza and wacth the DVD Fiddle. And by my house, about 5 minutes from my house, their is this park with a really big tire swing. Well me, my sister,Yenta(Im going to call my friends by who they play), Perchik and Golde got on. Since Motel was the biggest, he spun us. The chain got wrapped on my finger since I was standing, holding onto the chain higher then everyone else. All I felt was pain and I heard the SNAP. My finger cracked and I have it in a split. I can still do the plan but with a broken finger. So thats why I messed up! Sorry! -Broadway.Spazz.08 The Crippled (the nickname Motel gave me, since I have surgery and alot of broken bones :-) )
Artcub5- I agree with Tea_House_moon. They wouldn't cast someone who can't act as the lead. You just my be a 4 time threat. Acting, singing, dancing AND drawing! hope the show goes well. -Broadway.Spazz.08
Ballet Dancer, Hey! I have seen ur name alot on this page but havent talked to u. Soo, r u going to be in any upcoming plays, musicals, or anything else??? ~actress10105
Tea_house_moon, But I'm also a bit scared for opening night because we had to cancel our ress reahersal which was going to be on Friday, and the show is on the 9th (Monday). ~actress10105
Broadway.Spazz.08 Glad dress rehersals went well! I bet you are so ready for the show (dress rehersals at my school are never good)
artcub5 No! It doesn't mean you're a bad actress! You got a lead (let me tell you, not everyone gets a lead) and had one of your pictures picked. That you're really really good at acting and drawing!
Tea_house_moon, Ya and also if my scene does get cut out then I could just improve! Thats what my Director of the play said to do just in case! ~actress10105
Kickbootygirl, I'm almost 13. Actually all of those plays were classes so I was guaranteed to get a part. Also, most of the people in the classes are older than me so they get the leads. I know if I keep working at it eventually I will get bigger parts again( I was extremely surprised when I got the cat-in-the-hat role in seussical.)What plays have you been in? MusicalStar
I have been in this acting camp at my school for 5 years and for the first time i got one of the lead roles and today is the show actually its a musical but we had to draw pictures for the fliers and miy picture was the one that was picked i am starting to think that they like my drawing more than my acting does that mean i am a bad actress.
Has anyone seen that new show "Legally Blonde the Musical, the Search foe Elle Woods"? That show is AWESOME!!!! It comes on MTV (but it isn't bad) so check it out
Tea_house_moon, I didnt have my audition yet, I found out that it is next week not this week. My play airs on Monday. Hopefully we wont skip one of my scenes!!! ~actress10105
No one is a wanna be! Even if you are just starting out, you're an actress. I heard this phrase once "There are no small parts". It doesn't matter if you're a lead or not, just have fun! Luck to all you people in shows coming up soon!!!!
Broadway.Spazz.08- Well, I'm not in any "real shows" but I am going to be in this theater camp next week in which we will do a huge performance at the end. I don't know what play they are doing, because I think it depended on how many kids signed up. Then after that I think I might go on vacation with my parents and sis, but then come back to do another camp at a diff. theater. It's gonna be a busy summer. OMG! Fiddler opens in 2 weeks!? That's so awesome! -Tea_House_moon
Tea_House_Moon- Whats shows are you going to be doing in the next couple mouthes? For me, I start Opening night of Fiddler on the roof in 2 weeks! AHHH! I'm playing Hodel, who sings Far from the Home I love! Hope u make some shows! -Broadway.Spazz.08
My parents would not let do broadway and hollywood for a reasons. not beacuse im not good enough. my parents want me to enjoy childhood, not having to work everyday in shows and movies. I'm not a wanna be actress. all of us are actress if we have done a show, let it be a summer camp show or a school play -Broadway.Spazz.08 PS I have been in over 6 shows in the last year, so I have been acting alot, just not on Broadway.
acting rocks and i say that you should just hav fun and don;t be nervous at an audition! thats whats gotton me through my auditions and i've even gotton roles!!
H20101- It's nice that you want to give us advice and that you have a nice career, but some people can be offended by a comment like that. Other than that, welcome to the board! -Tea_House_Moon
BooButterfly- Excellently said!! It's nice if you want to give tips and tell stories, but there is a fine line between saying and bragging. -Tea_House_moon
Umm this is just my personal opinion, but I think this club is not here for people to just come in and state all their accomplishments (unless your asked). I don't know, I guess I just think that's kind of rude.
Tea_house_moon, Iam sad and mad because today we rehearsed for the play one more time and we skipped over one of the scenes that I'm in!!! ~actress10105
broadwaybeauty- OMG! I got tickets to go see Hairspray on tour! I'm going on June 28th!! That's awesome~ Anyway, ugh, babies crying. Once I was singing in this choir and we were singing this really beautiful song. Right at the end (which is the best part) a baby started to whail and that was the night they TAPED IT!!! So now whenever I listen to the recording I hear this WAH! Sad times... -Tea_House_Moon
Tea_house_moon, Thx for the audition thing!!! I hope I do well! And guess what? I memorized my monologue for the audition too! I still have to get some of my lines for the play perfected though. Hope u reply!!! ~actress10105
Tea_House_Moon, Thanks for the advice you helped a lot!! I don't know why my dad thinks that I will change!! Well on a funnier note your elevator story was sooooooo hilarious! I laughed so hard my mom was like "umm.....what's wrong" hahahaha. Toodles,BooButterfly P.S. Did I read that you like West Side Story? That is my fav musical. "I feeeeelll Preeeeettty! Ohhhh sooooo Preeeettyy!" haha lol
A highschool in my city performed Cats once. It was really musical, but it was hard to understand what they were saying because they were singing all the time, and was a little confusing! LOL -Stretch12
I am a total drama nut! Acting is so much fun! My favorite role has been the cat in the hat in Seussical the Musical. I have also been in Footloose,Guys&Dolls,A Midsummer nights dream and many other plays. I think the worst part of acting is that I have been type cast to playing male roles. The best part is all the friends I make during the run of a show. Because I am a shy person it feels really good to be on stage and to be a comepleatly different character. My advice when auditioning is to be yourself when you talk to the directer. Also, when auditioning for a certain role don't just pick the main character to get lots of attention, pick a role you really would enjoy playing. Also, if you don't get the part you wanted remember there is always next time and if you got a very small role think about how bad the play would be if there were only the three main parts. I hope this was good adivice for anyone who needs it. MusicalStar
BooButterfly- Hm, why does he think that you will turn into something you're not? Just because people in Hollywood mess up a lot, doesn't mean that you will. Maybe you should talk to your dad about it or you can ask your mom to talk to him.(I'm sorry if this is bad advice!) -Tea_House_Moon
actress10105- I will be out of school on Wednesday! Yeah, the camp is at one of the schools around here. The kids that teach it are Really nice! You'll do awesome at your audition! Yeah, for a touring company, the cats people were awesome (They could dance like there was no tomorrow!) -Tea_House_Moon
BooButterfly- LOL! I was in the elevator at my school (because of my back I was one of the only kids who got to ride it) and I had heard that it was soundproof. Well, I broke out into song in the elevator and when it finally reached the floor I wanted, some dude was standing outside and asked if that was me singing! I was like, "Uh, no!" -Tea_House_Moon
Tea_House_Moon, It's cool that you got to see Cats...I've always wanted to see it live! A few months ago, my sister and I went to go see Annie on tour, and this baby was sitting behind us and kept crying during the whole production, totally annoying, right? P. S. I'm so excited because Hairspray on tour is coming to my city next year! TTYL ~broadwaybeauty
Tea_house_moon, COOL acting camp!!! Where is it? Thanks soooo much for the advice too! Are u out of school for the summer??? Hope u reply soon!!! ~actress10105
Tea_House_Moon, I agree I wish life were a musical!!!! But once in the middle of the grocery store my sister and I started singing "Good Morning Baltemore"!! It was sooooooooooo funny all these people were just staring and laughing at us!! hahahahahaha lol! Well ttyl, BooButterfly
Broadway.Spazz.08- I would love to be computer friends! I wish life was a musical sometimes...I could just go outside in the street and burst into song... -Tea_House_Moon
Okay guys, today I went to go see Cats at the local music hall, and it was AWESOME!!! The cats actually came into the audience and I was all, Come over here to me! Lol, the only problem was was that this little girl was bouncing in her chair infront of me, and she stood up actually during my one of my favorite songs! I was so mad....but hey, at least I got to see it. Anyone going to see anything soon? -Tea_House_Moon
actress10105- Practice, Practice, Practice! A paragraph can be long, but if you really memorize and get into character, you won't mix them up! In my theater class we had to memorize 2 sentences in 3 minutes and say them infront of the class, and for me I would read one sentence like, 5 times each and then put my paper down. I would see if I could remember it, and If I did, I would go on with the next sentence. Hope I helped! -Tea_House_Moon
Ballet Dancer- Thanks for the tip! I hate the feeling of suffocating at an auditions! Doesn't feel like your heart went up to your throat. Anyway, I was pretty upset about only taping the curtain call, but the party ended up being fun anyway! We went outside and played improv. games, then signed everyone's shirt! -Tea_House_Moon
I haven't done any plays since December, although I recently got accepted into a really prestigious studio, so I'll be very busy with that. Plus, there weren't any open casting calls for kid roles lately, but, Summer is coming up and that's like the "Pilot Season" for local theatres (around here) so I'll be auditioning a lot this summer. Are any of you guys in any plays right now? TTYL ~broawaybeauty
I need some advice my mom and I both agree that I should get an agent. But my dad doesn't like me acting, I don't know why he doesn't like me acting. He thinks that if I become famous or something that I will turn into someone i'm not. What should I do? Please help especialy Tea_House_Moon and Ballet Dancer.
I have a long way to my acting carrer I'am only in 5 grade. I've found a school for acting In New York Somewere you make your own moive... I'am soooooo bord.
actress10105 I'm sure you'll do fine. Don't think of your play lines while you do your monolouge, and vice versa. Focus on the task at hand. Hope you do well! (wait, i know you will!!!)
eljmass I dance tap, ballet, and jazz. Do you take them?
BooButterfly Okay, I would like to have my own Disney Channel t.v. show. See, people who have Disney Channel shows have a good chance of being picked for DCOMs. When they get picked for DCOMs, they have a good chance of getting picked for feature films. So, in a way, you can have all of them.
p.s. tv shows are good even if they don't get you picked for a movie, because they keep going on and on! Sorry for the long post!
hi.this is bffgirl114 saying that I love 2 do drama. it is my favorite subject.I am going 2 b in drama class in 8th grade.I will wait next year and my dream will come true. I hope if I go for/audition for drama, then I will i will be the star of the play.oh I think this is no the drama club. maybe I am in a drama club talking about drama. oh well. ok i am out of here. bye
My dream is to become an actress and be on the TV shows: Sweet Life of Zack and Cody or Hannah Montana.PS I also want to be in HSM. When I grow older I want to meet Asley Tisdale or the person that plays Sam on icarly.
you like plays cool! but you know, Broadway could be a much better career for you. I mean it's big, entertaining, and cool! I would die to see one of your performances!
Ok I was bored so I decided to have a poll! Would you rather, a) Have a Disney channel television show. b) Star in a DCOM (Disney channel original movie) c) Star in a feature film d) Work behind the scenes
So there is my random poll!!!!! I hope you enjoy it. ttyl,BooButterfly P.S. I didn't put anything including theatre in the poll because I know everyone would choose that! LOL
Tea_house_moon Iam pretty scared about my audition though because we are supposed to memorize this monologue thats a paragraph, so I'm scared that I'm going to get my play lines mixed up with my monologue! ~actress10105
I Love to be act like someone else, in my upcoming play I'm playing a girl named Bridget and a girl named Nora. I cant wait! But it stinks because there are these two boys who have a small part but havent even memorized any of their lines yet!!!!
Tea_House_Moon Wre you mad about the curtain call? About auditions, I have a tip. Breathe. Sounds silly, right? It's not. I have friends who breathe all shallow (or hardly at all) before the audition. Then they get dizzy and mess up.
broadwaybeauty- You'll do awesome!!!! I remember once I had to go to this audition that was so far away from my house I had to wake up at the crack of dawn to get there! But in the end it was worth it Yay for fans of Wicked that haven't seen it yet *high fives* (But we will someday )
Tea_House_Moon- I prefer musicals over plays. I do both, but when ever I do plays, when I'm on stage I am like waiting for everyone to break out into song and dance. Do you wanna be computer friends? -BroadwaySpazz08
Lets see this is my acting schedule soo far: 1. in 1 and a half weeks the play Im in is an Irish Folktale ( I live in USA and Iam not irish at all) 2. In about 2 weeks I will be auditioning for a play next year
Tea_house_moon, Omg! So my the cast for the upcoming play Iam in practiced and I had 2 really funny bloopers! And even my director of the play and my drama teacher was laughing too! I LOVE bloopers ( as long as they dont happen when u perform the play infront of a bid audiance!) ~ actress10105
Tea_House_Moon, I totally agree-I love auditions! I'm still nervous, but, I'm always excited! Oh, by the way, I'm so sorry you didn't get to see Wicked 'on tour' due to your surgery! I've never seen Wicked before, either...but, I'd love to! Talk to you soon! ~broadwaybeauty
Ballet Dancer- I bet you did great! I always think I sound different on camera!! Lol, but once at a cast party we were watching the video and the camera had messed up and only taped the curtain call! All of us were so upset, but ended up craking up about us in our silly costumes running across the stage. But I guess that's what theater is all about! -Tea_House_Moon
dramaqueen333- Being someone else is awesome. I guess that is where the phrase "A mile in someone's shoes" comes into play! (Especially when you get to be like, an animal or tree-lol!) -Tea_House_Moon
actress10105- Yeah auditions!!! Even though a lot of people say they are so tense and "scary", I love them!!! They are one of the best parts of the, how would you say it, "Play process?" Lol! -Tea_House_Moon
swim4ever513- Of course I will be friends with you! Yeah, I love the wicked album so much, it's on my top 25 most played on my ipod! Don't worry, it's fine you asked! I was in the hospital because I had scoliosis (a curvature of the spine) and I had to have surgery on my back! It was not fun at all, but I am ok now! -Tea_House_Moon
born2entertain123, Thanks for the help !!!! I'll tell my mom right away!! Maybe one day we'll be in a movie together . I'll have my people call your people..... well technically my mom call your mom hahahahaha See you on the red carpet, BooButterfly
Tea_House_Moon, that's funny, it's my fav musical 2! and ive never seen it.. wanna b friends? oh BTW, why were u in the hospital, well it's ok if u dont wanna answer that. BTW2, 2 anwer your question, i'd rather b in a musical.. i ♥ singing!
Hey everyone, I have a question!!! Would you rather be in musicals or just a play?
(I like musicals a tad bit more, just because they are so much fun! Learning the dance moves and the songs are the hardest, but in the end they are worth it. Still, I love a good play - Especially one with comedy!)
swim4ever513- The funny thing is, Wicked is one of my favorite musicals-but I didn't get to see it when it came to my town because I was in the hospital!! I was crushed (I actually started to cry!) I was so upset, but my parents promised that I would see it next time. I hope it stays on Broadway for a long time, because if I ever get to go there, that will be the show I want to see!!! -Tea_House_Moon
BooButterfly - OMG, last year the exact same thing happened to me. I was sitting at lunch and my director pulled me out asking if I could sing this part in a competition we were going to. All my friends in choir were mad at me because they wanted it and there was no audition to begin with. But whatever...for me I love to sing and act, but I feel as though singing comes more naturally to me. That's why I love musical theater-because I can sing and learn more acting tips!!!
I just had a "cast party" yesterday! It was fun. I got to see myself sing and act on film, and that wasn't too good. I have this thing about watching myself sing solo. I can't. So, when my part came, I tried to tune it out. That didn't work.
Tea_House_Moon, Thanks! I've already been in a few plays at my local theater, so I plan 2 keep doing that! It is so much fun! It gives you a chance to be somone else, and to see what their veiw of life is like! I ♥ acting!!!!!!!!!
boobutterfly, depending on where you live there are local agencies that you can audition for and also very big agencies that travel around looking for talent.you can go online and look them up and sometimes they have newspaper adds.i heard a company on the radio and i auditioned for it.sometimes there are acting school you can try to get into and every month they have agents, producers, important people... come and see you. i think you should get an agent cuz i think that that the world of hollywood needs some fresh faces,i'll meet you at the red carpet ! lol! break a leg!, luv born2entertain123
Tea_House_Moon, Well thnx! I guess I am pretty good but that's mostly because I want to be an actress . But I know I hate being called "Favorite" once all the girls in our choir got mad because the choir director gave me a last minute solo. The only reason I got was because she forgot about the solo, the performance was THE NEXT DAY , and she knew I could sing and memorize the solo quick! So basically all the girls got mad at me for nothing!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Silly Rabit Trix are for kids! (I have noooo idea why I put that ) Okay never mind! TTYL,BooButterfly
BooButterfly- Yeah, that happens to me a lot in choir. I was once walking by this group of girls and they said that our choir director picks me for everything and that I was her "Favorite". BooButterfly, I would think that if you always got the leads, that would mean that you are pretty talented! -Tea_House_Moon
dramaqueen333- If you want to get into a play, I recommend looking in the newspaper for auditions and to look on the internet for local theater companies. The summer is here (well, almost for me) and you can probably look up theater camps that are going on! Hope I helped! -Tea_House_Moon
Broadway.Spazz.08- I'm so glad that your surgery is behind you! Favoritism, Typecasting, etc. In my opinion are just all apart of the theater experience. You will never have the perfect "Dream" cast or director, and you won't ever get every single role you want. I'm kind of glad that I have already gotten that lessoned learned. -Tea_House_Moon
Hi I see a lot of people using the term "Typecast" wrong so here's the definition TypecastAs an actor) Being repeatedly cast in the same type of role because they are known for such roles. Typecast is not the same as favoritism! I hope cleared that up . Toodles, L.M.B. (LittleMissBroadway)
I HATE FAVORITISM ! But at my school this one boy and I always get the lead roles because we work together well and have been in productions together since we were three. (Don't get me wrong other people do get main roles to) But all the kids are like "You guys ALWAYS get roles it's not fair" but we just audition and get parts, it's the director's desision. So I know from being in both situations that even if you don't get a lead don't be mean to the ones who do because it's not there fault.
born2entertain123, Can I please ask you a question? How exactly do you get an agent? My Mom and I have been wondering and we really don't know how. Can you please help? TTYL,BooButterfly P.S. I LOVE The Wiz!! Ease on down ease on down the roooad!!! HAHAHAHAHA
GIRLS!!! I so love acting, but I would rather be on stage then in front of a camera! What do I do? Not broadway, 'cause don't you have to sing n' dance 2? All I want to do is act! In front of an audiance! HELP!!!!!!!!!
Tea_House_Moon- OMG! I hate when that happens! I am one of the younger kids @ my skool (a magnet school) and I was the only student under 8th grade to get a lead role! All my friends thought I rigged it! But i didnt. it just that the older kids have more "exprince"!
anyone ever see or do the show called the wiz ? itz totally awsome ! ease on down, ease on down the roaad... click the heart if you wanna marry nick or joe jonas? lol ! im an awsome actresse/asinger and im getting an agent!
Tea_house_moon & Ballet Dancer- I had my surgery on my elbow this Winter. I broke it when I fell roller blading. And then i broke it agian 8 mouthes later at a acting camp when I fell off a stage. Then I had surgery for that. but me and my friends now have a joke instead of saying Break a Leg for shows, we say Break a Elbow! And I broke my leg and knee when I fell doing a Fouetté en tournant during a class. It was pretty bad. That was in the summer 2 years ago. I can dance but I have to work harder. -Broadway.Spazz.08 Cheerleader007's sister
Speaking of typecasting, Have you guys ever been in a situation where all the older kids got the leads? Like for me, I am in the theater magnet at my school (which pretty much means I have a theater class and it is part of my curriculum-I get GRADED on it!)and this year when we auditioned for the play, all the kids a grade above us got the leads and us lower classman were all extras! My teacher said they had more experience- but for half of them it was their first play. I was sad for a long time, but you know what? I got over it. I figured it was just ONE show and that I shouldn't freak out about it. I ended up having a great time and was able to help out backstage, like with props and lighting. So, my fellow theater friends, if something like this ever happens to you (typecasting, favoritism, etc.) DON'T TAKE IT PERSONALLY!!! There will always be another chance! -Tea_House_Moon
isteppo- Hm, well, lots of my friends went to a half priced book store and found a karaoke cd, but you never know what they have in stock at stores like that. They probably have some at a near bookstore and you can always try amazon! Hope I helped! -Tea_House_Moon
I know Ballet Dancer, I would hate to be typecast! I am doing pretty good though because I play very diffrent characters in each play. But I think like poor Miley Cyrus is so typecast even if she wanted to be in anything more professional she couldn't. Selena Gomez won't be that way though because she is 1000000000000000000000 times better at acting and singing than Miley.
Ballet Dancer- Aw, thanks. It's almost been a year (July 17 was when I had it). Mary Poppins and Belle are awesome roles! I love how Disney has Broadway shows now! -Tea_House_Moon
Broadway.Spazz.08 - I'm sorry you had to have surgery! Yeah, it really isn't fun. Thanks for clearing up that you were using your sis's account. I was like, "Who is this?" -Tea_House_Moon
I think that one of the best places to act at would have to be the state theater of GA, The Springer Opera House,. I'm not really sure why they call it the opera house but thats just what it is. I go to their summer acting camp for 2 weeks it is a ton of fun. Some people say it is hauted I don't think it is that bad but it is kind of spooky. click the heart or leave a comment if you have ever been to the Springer or go the camp.
Ballet Dancer, My dream role is to be Belle in Beauty in the Beast too! When I saw first saw Beauty and the Beast on Broadway (Annelise Van der Pol was Belle) I knew that I wanted to do the role one day. Talk to you soon! ~broadwaybeauty
i have been in a few plays...i was louisa von trapp in sound of music last year and i was lydia bennet in pride and prejudice this spring. this summer they are doing peter pan...im thinking i should try out for wendy?...any suggestions on finding karaoke songs for auditions?
Tea_house_moon- I LOVE Tevye's dream! My friend plays Sarah! BELTER ROCK! -BroadwaySpazz.08 PS I had surgery on my knee ( dance injury) and elbow (I fell of a stage) and it stunk. But Wicked made me fell better!
I loooooooove acting and I have to act in plays that are interesting and acted by kids my age. The problem is, no one thinks that a girl with thin brownish blond hair that is wavy and sometimes frizzy, freckles, blue eyes, and a look that makes me look Irish is suitable for acting. Anyone have and advice? Please respond if you do. -gylfie
broadwaybeauty- I unfortunately have never seen a real Broadway show *tear* but I know one day I will! But the touring companies are always excellent! -Tea_House_Moon
broadwaybeauty- Yeah, surgery was not fun (I'm actually still recovering!!) But I listened to Dancing through Life on my ipod all the time to make me feel better. I LOVE Cats! It was one of the first musicals I had ever seen, and it makes me cry! Yeah...I sing memory a lot...in the shower...very off-key... -Tea_House_Moon
Broadway.Spazz.08- Fiddler on the roof is awesome! I love matchmaker and Tevye's dream. *High Fives* Oh Yeah, us belters rock! I was once auditioning for this big region choir thing, and I asked my choir teacher to help me with a song, and she said that my voice is very brass. I was like, is that a compliment? Lol, Phantom of the theater-nice! -Tea_House_Moon
Tea_House_Moon- I am doing Fiddler on the Roof as Hodel. It is a huge show and alot of fun

Here are a few simple audition tips I use... 1. Before Performing your song/monologue always introduce yourself, even if you know the director well. 2. When acting out a monologue, find a focal point somewhere (the wall?). 3. When performing a song, it's always a bonus to do simple movements with it. 4. Have fun and act natural. (I know, it's easier said then done)
Tea_House_Moon, Wow, it seems like we have a lot of things in common! I'm sorry that you hd to have surgery, but, I'm happy you're O. K! Oh, I have heard Idina's album a few times, although, I'm not too familiar with the songs on her album. It's cool that you like Wicked and I also really like the role of Grizabella in Cats...I love singing Memory! -broadwaybeauty
Okay, so I liked Broadwaybeauty's idea of doing random facts, so here are some about me....
1. Broadway = love. I have been doing theater and singing since I was four, and I think I have finally found my niche in the world. 2. I had back spinal implant surgery last summer, due to scoliosis. (Don't worry, I'm fine!) I couldn't dance or even bend down for half of the school year. 3. I have been both an alto 2 and an alto 1. It just matters on the song! 4. My fav. Audition song is "I'm not that girl" from Wicked! 5. I make scrapbooks of all the shows I have been in. (I love to scrapbook!) 6. My dream role is either Elphaba in Wicked or Grizzabella in a revival of Cats! -Tea_House_Moon
BooButterfly - Aw thanks! It was fun, but it was on a school night and I was exhausted when I got to school the next morning. I almost fell asleep in my first class! But you know what, it was worth it!
bsgfan421- Oh gosh, I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. Prima Donnas are bad news. At my sis's school (she did theater too) there were these girls who would go to auditions talking like they already had the part. Well, when they didn't get it they complained to the director, they were never casted again.
Broadway.Spazz.08- I just recently finished a show at my school called pop show and it was 60's themed. It was so much fun! Next sunday I am going to go see Cats and then go to a theater camp! It's going to be one artsy summer for me. What about you Broadway.Spazz.08?
broadwaybeauty- I love broadway 2 and was Alice in Alice in Wonderland! But...I'm not a soprano at all! My choir teacher actually has to lower songs to fit my range! LOL! I adore Idina and Kristen too! Have you heard Taylor the Latte Boy or Idina's new Album I stand? They are AWESOME!!!
Personaly, I LUV acting! It is my calling. There is nothing I don't like about acting! Well, except when people get bratty when they don't get the part they want. That rarely happens when our school plays come around every year but, there have been some cases where brattiness has happened. Does that ever happen at anyones school?
Hey, guys! Here are some random facts about me... 1. I have a HUGE obsession with the musical, Wicked. Kristen and Idina are, like, my idols! 2. I'm a super high soprano 1, and my really low notes sound like my cat meowing (JK!) 3. Broadway is my life! 4. One of my favorite plays I've performed in was Alice and Wonderland. I played Alice and I had so much fun with the part! 5. My favorite audition song is "Part of your World", from the Little Mermaid. I feel like it was made for my vocal range! (Actually I just recently saw The Little Mermaid on Broadway and Sierra Bogess is a truely amazing Ariel! 6. I'm super excited for MTV's new show coming June 2nd about finding the next Elle Woods for Legally Blonde on Broadway! Who else?
Tea_House_Moon OF COURSE NOT!!!!!!!!!!! I was gonna, but then I realized how much I like it! I love getting all the drama tips from you peoples, and none of my friends ever have any (they just say "you tell me"). Ttyl
Ballet Dancer- I loved your advice that you posted a couple of days ago. It is so true that if you are doing something you completely hate, you can really tell and it makes everything hard. If you truly love something you can do anything! My mom always tells me that never EVER let anyone force you to do something. That way, you can be able to shine in what you are passionate about!
Ballet Dancer- Okay good! I would be sad if you left! I know what you mean though, I spend lots of time on the computer too! I'm glad your still on here!!
Ballet Dancer, OK! I am glad you aren't leaving I guess I missunderstood your message! But as for me I ♥L♥O♥V♥E♥ Broadway/Theatre acting much more than T.V. I think it takes more skills and talent. Plus your less likely to be "typecast" in theatre. ♥L♥O♥V♥E♥, BooButterfly P.S. YAY don't you just ♥L♥O♥V♥E♥ my new love thing!
BooButterfly- Remember a couple of weeks ago I told you about the show I was in and how I was freaking out about the no dress rehearsal thing? Well the show was last night and it went great! Thank you so so so much for giving me great advice! Your awesome!
BooButterfly No! Everyone is so nice to me here! You guys (girls, I mean) are the best!!!!! I couldn't disjoin if I tried! I'm just spending waay too much time on the computer. So, I'll probably be on like three times a week. I'll still be on, just not as much. I'm writing a story, and its kinda absorbing all my energy (like a giant vacuum)! I'll post it on Writers Club sometime. Do u like broadway or tv better?
Ballet Dancer, What do you mean by "I'll miss all my friends here, but I'm probably not going to be on again." Did any of us say somthing mean to make you not want to come back?
I like the idea of Broadway acting a tiny bit better than being on tv. If you mess up on tv, its there forever. If you mess up on stage people forget. My fave advice I have ever gotten is "Do what you love, and everything else just comes. It desn't matter if you're good or bad. You just have to love what you do. Also, if you're in a situation where you don't know what to do, smile." between us all, I'm love ballet, but I'm not very good. I just try. I'll miss all of my new friends here, but I'm probably not going to be on again. Break a leg!*
Ballet Dancer, ooh ballet is the BEST! I have only been taking for 7 years. But I have learned that it's not about how long you take it's about how talented you are . But wow taking since you were three is pretty cool . TTYL,BooButterfly
Ballet Dancer- That's awesome that you dance (and have been taking it for a long time!) Unfortunately, I have to left feet and can't even get a jazz square down. Ballet will get you very far in the theater world, because you can be a "Triple threat" as they say!
jigish101- OMG, I love not having the lead! I'm mean, sure, we all want to get the lead, but sometimes being the supporting character is better. In the script, they usually have so many details for the main character, there is no more room left for you to add quirks and mannerisms to them. But if you are the supporting characters, you can make them your own!
Parischic- Yeah, it would be cool to have an agent, but I still like just doing community theater and stuff with my school. I feel like I still have a lot of things to learn before "getting out there"
BooButterfly- Oh No! I hope you are feeling better! Something like that happened to me once. I was auditioning for a choir and in a play during the same weekend, and I got strep throat right before! It was terrible, because my voice was all scratchy and when I was onstage I had a fever and was burning up! The second the play was over I went home and fell slept for 4 hours! LOL! Don't worry, there will always be more opportunities!
My school play is over. Sigh... I had SO MUCH FUN!!! By the way, I've been taking ballet since I was 3. I also take tap and jazz, but ballet is my fave.
Tea_House_Moon, I am in the same boat with you all of my friends are either artsy or sporty! Except for last year I became bffs with this girl who loves drama too yay. Oh on a new subject last night were the auditions for community theatre. About two hours before the auditions I got soooo sick I could barely even talk!!! I was like how could this happen? Oh well I guess I will get over it.
you know how maves great grandmother was a flapper on broadway, well my great grandmother was one of the first rockesttes ever on broadway. at the backstage tour in new york i saaw pictures of her! thats why i like to act sing and ance so much in runs in my family !! ;
I love theater, but sometimes I have get a little stage frieght, but it doesnt bother me. When I am onstage i love the apllause and theater is just so fun. We havent had any school plays for a while, but every year there is a talent show. If i can, I go and audition every year! I always make a big part with my friends, so i am cool with theater. All in all, theater is really cool!
hermione23, well oc I dont think i did a great job, but thanx! my friend said i did really awesome cuz i was so casual about it, lol i was like well i wasnt nervous or anything at all, it was ez! LOL!
I love drama! Each year I'm always looking forward to being in the school play, because you get to be someone you usually aren't, and you need a lot of people you probably wouldn't just in the hallways.
BooButterfly- LOL, me too! I am so glad that I can talk to people like you guys who love theater too! Like, all my friends are either artist or really into sports. It's totally okay that they have their own thing, but I'm glad I can talk theater with someone (especially you nice people!) -Tea_House_Moon
Ballet Dancer, I will tottally be your friend And I am with you I have noooooo idea how you get an agent! ? haha but I want one Toodles,BooButterfly P.S. Do you take ballet?
Fabulousinpink, Ik, but my parents would never let me get an agent this young! When I said 10 years, I didn't mean exactly 10 years! I just meant when I'm older! I can't believe ur going to b on DC! That is so cool!!!
I'm in a "grease" production right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm in the ensemble so I don't act bu I have picked up a good tip:Act as casually as you talk, because it looks a lot more normal that way! Hope this helped somebody
I'm new on this site, but I loove to act, so I signed up. Anyway, wish me luck! I have a dance recital at 4 today. I'm a little nervous (even though its my 9th one). Does anybody here want to be my friend?
BooButterfly- Who doesn't love the song matchmaker?! Lol, I can't believe that! Of course we can be friends! Aw, that's so adorable! I sometimes think that one of the best parts about being in a play is seeing the little kid's reactions! -Tea_House_Moon
Hey girls, I Looooove acting . I have already been in three different plays. They are for MFC which stands for Mad For Character. My Latest was this year. I got to be in almost every performence. I was also in every scene. I played a spider named Ann. Have you ever heard the saying "what a tangeled web we weave when first we pratice to decive." Well the whole play is based on that. May I please be in this club? I toatly love acting. Thanks sooooo much. 3bro
Go Fabulousinpink!!! I'm so happy for you. Follow you dreams is great advice. I've been dancing since I was 3 and, now I've learned I loove acting. Anyway, break a leg!!*
