Friendship Quilt
• sewing machine • a piece of fleece • a piece of cotton fabric (same size as the fleece) • a needle with a big eye • 3 feet of yarn or more Directions: 1) Decide how big you want your blanket and buy two pieces of fabric, one fleece and one cotton, in that size. 2) Line up the cotton and fleece on top of each other. Sew three sides together, and then turn the whole thing inside out so the seams are hidden. 3) Close the open seam by folding the front and back fabric in and under. Pin the fabric together and sew it shut with a 1/8 seam. 4) Thread the needle with enough yarn to tie a bow. You can make the bow small or large—trust your taste! 5) From the cotton side: sew the cotton to the fleece by sticking the needle down through the cotton and fleece. Then stick it back up through both layers, about 1/8 inch away. 6) Tie the two sides of the yarn into a bow. You just made a tuft! 7) Space your tufts evenly and be sure do enough of them so the quilt is tied together securely. |
