I went to the Devon Horse show yesterday and I saw this champion competition and there were jumps that were over six feet! The Jumpoff at the end was amazing! The girl and horse that won turned halfway around on one of the jumps in the Jumpoff. The horse that won was Rocky W. The prize was a trophy and $45,000.
I rode a fast horse named yankee at riding he flew over the crossrail and started cantering! I fell onto his neck and held real tight then i swung my leg over doing a dismount from his neck! hope i don't get him in the show

kookookoko, It is NOT your fault that this happened. Did you make the deer come out and jump? Did you know that would happen? Did you even know what to do when something like that happens? No! So it is not your fault. You probably shouldn't quit. Neither you nor your instructor expected this to happen. Ask her about it, and how you can be better prepared for the unexpected. Only if she is discouraging you more than that one time, and doing it a lot should you consider finding a different instructor. I hope you're okay. Good luck!
I Love Horses!!!!!!! they are so gental and so calm, yet so wild! Riding is sooooo wonderful! It makes me feel so free and just so amazing. Although i don't ride a ton, i just love being around horses!

ive done english and western and about half a mile away from my house is like horse country. WITH HORSES EVERYWHERE! my favorite horses i'v ever ridden are named Hue and Dreamy. Hue was an old slow-poke but he was so loving and cute... brown and sandy. dreamy loves to canter and trot, he wont walk , cutie cutie cutie! he is dark brown. and at my horse back riding lessons, Silver Gate, one horse just had a baby! HE IS ADORABLE! but i don't know what they named it.. HOW COULD ANYONE NOT LIKE HORSE?!
My riding instructer totally discouraged me today.She told me to mount, i did.Then this deer jumped and my horse shied,and i jumped out of the stirrup cause i wasnt quite on yet and she told me not to do that.i coulda broken my neck if i tried to mount when he was scared and acting kinda wild!I almost sprained my ankle as it is.Its not my fault is it??? hplvr123, Wow, you're so lucky that there are so many horses where you live. ALthough there IS a riding stables right beside my school, my mom doesn't wanna pay so much for lessons. I want to ride English, which is what they teach, but my neigbor's horses only ride Western. I learned English first (only $15 per lesson with my old instructor, but she moved ) and it is easier for me than Western. I wish I could get lessons...

hplvr123, Yay! I love Man O'War! I ride when I can, and now I can ride pretty much whenever I want to, because now my neighbor bought two horses! (I was gonna buy one of them, but at the last minute she changed her mind and bought both, but she lets me ride them.) I would love to ride competitively, but I need to practice a little more first! Horse -back riding is great! I can do thins I can't do on foot. my horse was at an old barn that they weren't taking good care of him. His ribs were showing, and he needed a lot of TLC, but now he's an awesome horse. He's the absolute best!!! How could anyone even think of putting him down???? ticklesA P.S. Katani, keep riding! Swimin Dude, I'll be your friend! I love horses&ponies too! My dog might not have to be put down anymore, we're not sure... Her ligament was torn a year ago and her old body was in terrible pain, but now that the snow disappeared last week, she seems way more limber! Yay!

Hey swedishfishyfashion, why is your dog gonna be put down? we had to put 3 of our dogs down 1 because when we were littler #1 dog went around and bit horses that we were keeping for a neighbor. #2 dog got bit by a tick and got a disease so we put her down, because we didn't want her to suffer. #3 dog she was 15! she was gonna die any day so we put her down #2&3 were great dogs! want to friendz? write back!?!?!?!?!?! ~Swimin Dude~

My horse Hunter is 3 breeds. 50% Arabian, 20% Belgian, and 30% thoroughbred. Hunter is so funny! What I find really puzzling, is that he's scared of anything white, and HE'S white! Whenever he eats an apple, he sucks on it! He LOVES treats! He gobbles them up before you even hold your hand close enough to his mouth! ~ Lunatuna ~

levelground, I know a place if you're near it. Garrod Farms in Los Gatos. Spelling is bad. They are really cool. They're horses rock. My favorite is Pete and Grizzly, they are both Chestnut horses. Bonus, they have two cats and a dog, but he's deaf. One cat's name is Duchess and the other I can't remember. The dog's name is Duke, or something.
Who doesn't like horses? They are the best! Well, dogs AND horses are the top best in the pet world!!! And who doesn't love horseback riding and trails?
AAaaaahhhhhh!!! Today I just learned that my 2 fave horses EVER are for sale! Eeeekk! They have to be sold together, and my parents only wanna buy 1, but MAYBE my neighbor will buy the other, cuz she hearts horses and has a barn&field, too! But thing is, we have to put a fence around our field! If we don't buy them, I probably won't ever see them again! I'm crossing my fingers and praying that I can get them! I love them so much! And it'll help me to have other pets when my dog is put down, too, so I really really hope it all works out!

Oh, chocolatte, I don't get that magazine, but there's a British mag by the name of PONYmag, and it is soooooo cool! I love it! Only thing is, it costs more in the bookstore because it comes all the way from the U.K., but it rocks!

I LUV RIDING! It is so much fun! I love jumping and cantering, riding makes me forget all about my problems and school work. i can just relax and enjoy the fuzzy animals! Horses are soooooooooo CUTE! I am a champion in competition actully!

When I went to horse camp in the summer,we had a show at the end and (it was a week long camp) we all got awards and I got 'Most Improved Posting'!! i was sooo proud.

last summer my friend introduced me to this woman who has two horses, and her mom knows her, so now we ride there a lot. But, at that time I had just come back from Europe, where I had riding lessons and tried to canter, but almost fell off instead! But, my friend and I went on a trail ride, and the horses spookedand started cantering. I stayed on, and controlled my horse, even though I was bareback! Im in luv w/the horse now, his name is Charlie and he's the sweetest Arabian ever! Now I canter a lot, and its soooo much fun!

Leaofparis, I barely ride, and I still ADORE horses! So trust me, it doesn't matter if u have ridden or not. OMG! I love the Saddle Club series and the shows on TV. They both rock! Learning about horses is so interesting, huh? Oh yeah, and Arabians are awesome! They r really pretty too, (like every horse!)
