Back To School Shopping- What To Buy and What to Leave on the Shelf
Lots of girls love back to school shopping, and who wouldn’t? You get to pick out a whole new style for the school year! But sometimes we buy things that we’ll never wear in school! That bright yellow dress looked so cute in the dressing room mirror, but now that you’re home… you just don’t feel the same way.
The best way to buy the right things is bring a friend and your Mom. Your friend will tell you if your shirt is ugly even if your Mom thinks it’s adorable. I know that it only matters what you think, but it’s good to get a second or third opinion on clothes, because it’s hard to see how something really looks on you. Your Mom can tell you if your skirt is too short, because if you go shopping with only a friend your parents might not think what you buy is appropriate! Its good to have a friend and a parent.
When you are looking at a piece of clothing, picture everything you already own in your head. Will it go with the other things? Can it be worn in more than 1 different outfit? If the answer is yes, buy it. But be careful, don’t buy it if it is a new trend that probably won’t last long, or if it’s in a bad print or color that won’t match, like paisley or bright Hawaiian flowers.
It’s good to create a wardrobe of clothes that go together. A tee shirt can be worn by itself, over a tank top, under a tank top, or over a long sleeved shirt. Its way better than a pair of crazy-plaid shorts that only match 1 shirt. Here are some good basics-
1.Jeans. Get a few different washes or styles like skinny leg, wide leg, flare, boot cut, etc. 2.Tee shirts. Good for layering. Go for logo tees, cute graphics, or an all-over print like polka-dots. 3.A pair of leggings. Cute under skirts and dresses, shorts if that’s your style, and under jeans in the cold winter months. White, brown, and gray are good legging colors. 4.A basic denim mini skirt, goes with anything. Can be worn alone or with leggings. Get one that’s not pleated. 5.A hoodie. Go for a solid color. 6.A nice solid color cardigan sweater looks nice over a print cami or tee shirt. 7.Different colored tanks and camis, perfect for layering. They add to any outfit. 8.Long sleeved thermal or tee shirt. Get one in a print, and one in your favorite color. 9.A fashionable top or two, such as a baby doll, square neck, etc. 10.A pair of flats in a nice basic color like black, brown, or white. 11.Sneakers that you’ll like to wear. Etnies or other skate shoes, converse, or athletic sneakers are all good choices. 12.Boots. Ugg-boot styles are cute and go with anything. You can tuck your jeans in, have them under your jeans, and wear them with skirts and dresses. 13.Bermuda shorts. Preferably denim. 14.A scarf that you really like. Can be worn as a headband, neck scarf, or belt.
You don’t have to buy them ALL, but these are great choices. These are mostly basics. You can get trendier clothes or patterned clothes any time, but these clothes will last you through the whole year. Follow these tips to get A back to school clothes!

dancechick, the best summer styles are: shorts (jean, plaid, or a solid color), capris (same styles as shorts), graphic (or solid) ts, babydoll tops, tanks, and simple dresses. shoes: flats, flip flops, sandals, and cute sneakers. acceries (depending on style): bead bracelets (a lot together looks great), chunky bracelets (dont over do it with too many), bangles (i prefer silver), hoop earrings, and colorful rings. colors: bright, tropical, light, and over all not to dark. those are the styles i personally think are best for summer. i hope you like them and will look stylish in them.

Hey, guys! ellieyo45: OK, you want to look cool, but effortless, and not too girly. For a shirt, pick a color that isn't very bright, like charcoal, brown, or white. Stay away from black and navy, though. Then for bottoms, I think I remember you only being about to wear skirts that cover your knees...so choose a skirt in a light, but NOT bright color, like soft pink, baby blue, dark red, or cream. OK, NOW comes that bright twist you've been looking for. Choose a color that really POPS, like electric blue, hot pink, bright red, lemon yellow, lime green, or violet. Dress the outfit up with bright accessories: a scarf used as a belt, a tangle of bracelets, shoes, a watch, anything. When you use too many brights, it looks like you're trying too hard. That's why I suggest this outfit for coolness and effortlessness. Hope this helps!

glittergirl- I know! I love nail polish! here is a really cute idea!! What you need- clear nail polish gel pen color nail polish (optional) fingers and nails (MUST HAVE!!!)
Instructions- I painted my nails with clear nail polish, then drew on them with a gel pen then covered that with clear nail polish. It looks so cool! It's like when you paint tiny designs on with nail polish, only its a gel pen! I have a four-letter name, so I painted one letter on each finger then exclamation points on the thumb! So cute! ballagirl: With light-brown eyes and fair skin, use light blue or light pink. Nothing too heavy, and make it a bit smokey looking with ur finger. For a longer-lasting affect use a liqued primer with cream eyeshadow, and powder of the SAME color on top of that. Also, dont use very heavy eyeliner, and smudge it as well. Brown mascara would look gr8, too. Have fun primbing, lol!
