Okay, I read this whole page of comments and saw a lot of people with tons of opinions. I think that clothes ARE just things, but people like me put clothes together as a form of creativity. I love pairing shirts and pants together and seeing what they look like. However, I think that it is degrading when you walk around with shirts that only have the brand name or logo on the front. It's like the store is owning you and using you. I don't mind buying from brand-name stores, but I want it to be because I like the style, fit, and color, not becasue it has certain letters or shapes on the front. I love shopping and fashion, but I think that our world needs a big wake-up call about sizes. Stores like Abercrombie, Hollister, Aeropostale, or American Eagle gear their clothes to really skinny people, or people on the opposite side of the spectrum. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but a lot of people are left in the dust. Heart me if you agree!
Broadway.Spazz.08: Hmm..I'd go definitely with Marshalls. They have a whole Converse shoe section, and their clothes are cut for real ppl and have all sorts of styles. I'm with you on the vintage thing. I go to tons of garage sales and thrift stores, and find an amazing outfit everywhere. I'm a little more girly than you, though, so it's hard to give you advice. Delia's is pretty inexpensive when you shop the sales racks, but it's girly times 10. I only mentioned that cuz of the vintage stuff that is sometimes there. However, this season they went totally 80s--90s. Ask away! I love fashion!

I wish there was a store that was inexpensive. It has good sizes (not like only tiny sizes like at hollister), it doesn't have loud music playing (like at abercrombie), and its clothes are lots of different styles so they suit diferent people. By inexpensive clothes I mean $10-$15 for jeans, $5-$15 for a shirt. Click the heart if you think that would be an awesome store. (and comment if you know an actual store like that!)

ummm... Gap has really cute clothes, or at least when I wear the clothes from there I get tons of compliments! Maybe it's just me, because at Nordstrom's I saw this pink and black coat, mom said it was hideous, I tried it on and she was like, "it looks really cute on you!" People, Gap is way cheaper than AEO, ABecrombie & Hollister. So when people say Gap (way to expensive), Claires, and AEO, i wanna scream. AEO is way more expensive, and besides, the Gap has really ugly clothes. I haven't shopped there in 5 years since I was 8.

Tortie you are so right that people go overboard. Some girls in my school wear a Hollister or abercrombie shirt every day. And during the winter they wear it over a turtleneck, with a brand name hoodie on top. I have a few things too, but some girls entire closet is from Hollister and those other stores.

My sister is really into fashion, so she got me interested in it at age 5! I like classic prep, so I own a lot of polo dresses and stuff from Hollister and Abercrombie. Sometimes, though, I add a little twist to my style by throwing in a little punk or even some...dare I say it...thrift shop stuff!
In my school I saw an 8 year old wearing a hollister shirt! And it was halfway to her knees. The only reason she was wearing that is because they think that cool, older kids all wear hollister so they should wear it and be cool. I'm not saying that 8 year olds are really little or anything, but hollister is supposed to be for 14 year olds! Some clothes there are really not appropriate for kids like their low cut jeans, short skirts and shorts, and their tight clothes. I just don't think anybody, especially 8 year olds should be dressing like that. Put a heart if you agree.
danceinparis, you can ask for those clothes for holidays and birthdays and other special occasions. She may not want to spend too much money on things, so look for sales and special offers. Also, go shopping with her and ask her what she thinks of some of the clothes. If she likes the styles on you, she will be more likely to buy something!

if you have spaghetti straps either go with a strapless bra or one with really skinny straps that you can tuck under. Also, that Hollywood clothing tape really works!
i don't like it when designers use fur and feathers at all. It's mean. But if they don't use a lot of leather, just some on shoes, that's fine. I realize shoes of leather last longer. I love horses, and I know that leather is generally the best material for tack, too. But I just hate it when they use fur!
hplvr123, I do not like abericombie&fitch at all! their music is way too loud, their clothes are to pricey for their lack of attractiveness and quality, and the lighting is too dark. I do love American Eagle, though. ANd the Gap. And Nordstrom's!

also, look on the sale racks. i find a ton of cute ae stuff for under $10, just by looking at the clearance racks. also, take advantage of the ae allaccesspass, where they give you extra $$ off, and its free!
There is no such thing as ugly clothes. There are just creative clothes. Although I would never wear pink pants or socks with sandals, if someone else wore them, they'd be showing their sense of style, and style is beautiful. Style is only gone when you have to wear uniforms
Heres a friendly tips for those girls who are looking for cute and inexpensive jewelry. At Walmart there is a jewelry line called Panama Jack. The jewelry is tropical and totally cute which matches Hollister and Aero's Cali looks.
I konw how hard it is to come up with $$ to spend @ the big brand names *(i.e. Hollister, Abercrombie and American Eagle), but don't get left in the dust when your friends go out shopping to these super trendy (and spend-y) stores! go shopping on your own and find the same clothes at cheaper stores, like target, fred meyer and WalMart. When your trendy friends ask where you got your clothese (that look like theirs!) answer proudly: "oh these? target." Shop the sales shelves at Hollister, i got a long sleeve shirt for $12 once.Everything that is once $50, is at some pointt between $14-$20ish. Just wait 3 months after hoodie season and you can get it for like $20 cheaper!!

Also not everything has to be brand new. Go to thrift stores, Goodwill, and stores like TJ Max. They have clothes that are just as cute, and definitely not as expensive! I saw an abercrombie miniskirt there for 3 dollars! Instead of $40 dollars you'd pay for it normally.
Instead of a hoody that says Hollister of Abercrombie or whatever, just get a plain hoodie in a cool color and put cool pins on it with sayings you like. I mean, a brand name hoodie can be $50 and a plain one from a department store can be $10 or $20! I have a green hoody from JC Penny. The pin on it is so cute it says "Against animal testing" with a picture of animals at school taking a test!

I really like ballet flats, or really any kind of flats. And this doesn't have a lot to do with fashion, but it looks bad when girls go around with their bra straps showing. ( especially if it's on purpose)

ok let me tell you the new things in . cuft jeans,and a blows shirt, and high boots! they are so cute. the fashion in newyork is a nice long dark purple jacket a nice short skirt, a really lite violt,and dark brow skrunchy boots. and the fashion in texas is blue. a blue bloss , a tan short skirt! oh ya and a guchie darck red bag! the fashion for me all week is plane and simple. some jeans,really dark colored shirt,light jacket, and some really big glasses and big bags ! they are so big.

She has a line of bags with LeSportSac. Ralph Lauren: If you like preppy with a twist, or you like horses, you'll love his line. Hey pandagirl, I know all of them, but Christian Dior is the BEST! Too bad he's dead, and John Galliano is designing under his name instead. I don't like what JOhn is doing with the clothes, but I saw some of Dior's original dresses, and they are Gorgeous!
I don't own anything that's from Hollister or American Eagle or any of those store, but I hope to shop there one day. Right now I dnn't think my mom would let me shop there. I think Old Navy Clothes are ok. They really aren't that bad. Do you guys like Anchor Blue?

hey peeps, dis is my fav. outfit of the week pandagirl! (luved urs by da way) pink hollister tee under yellow baby doll. dark blast skinny jeans, black knee high boots, blue 1/2 jacket (shiny), yellow bangles, black hoops, and seashell necklace. I no it sounds weird, but it was cute!
