I don't get it why EVERYONE is obsessed with Hollister, Abercrombie, and all of those other expensive stores. Sure, I have a few things from those places, but why go overboard? Shopping is just another thing in the world that people take advantage of.
My parents can't even afford to buy buy buy buy buy everything. My mom makes me buy all the name-brand stuff my self.

denimgirl07, I wear Hollister Co and I'm in 6th grade. I started wearing Hco last summer, but my bffl wore Hco in 5th grade. I was too little to wear it!!!! I agree that 8 year olds should not wear it!!!
My sister is really into fashion, so she got me interested in it at age 5! I like classic prep, so I own a lot of polo dresses and stuff from Hollister and Abercrombie. Sometimes, though, I add a little twist to my style by throwing in a little punk or even some...dare I say it...thrift shop stuff!
In my school I saw an 8 year old wearing a hollister shirt! And it was halfway to her knees. The only reason she was wearing that is because they think that cool, older kids all wear hollister so they should wear it and be cool. I'm not saying that 8 year olds are really little or anything, but hollister is supposed to be for 14 year olds! Some clothes there are really not appropriate for kids like their low cut jeans, short skirts and shorts, and their tight clothes. I just don't think anybody, especially 8 year olds should be dressing like that. Put a heart if you agree.
danceinparis, you can ask for those clothes for holidays and birthdays and other special occasions. She may not want to spend too much money on things, so look for sales and special offers. Also, go shopping with her and ask her what she thinks of some of the clothes. If she likes the styles on you, she will be more likely to buy something!

if you have spaghetti straps either go with a strapless bra or one with really skinny straps that you can tuck under. Also, that Hollywood clothing tape really works!
i don't like it when designers use fur and feathers at all. It's mean. But if they don't use a lot of leather, just some on shoes, that's fine. I realize shoes of leather last longer. I love horses, and I know that leather is generally the best material for tack, too. But I just hate it when they use fur!
hplvr123, I do not like abericombie&fitch at all! their music is way too loud, their clothes are to pricey for their lack of attractiveness and quality, and the lighting is too dark. I do love American Eagle, though. ANd the Gap. And Nordstrom's!

also, look on the sale racks. i find a ton of cute ae stuff for under $10, just by looking at the clearance racks. also, take advantage of the ae allaccesspass, where they give you extra $$ off, and its free!
There is no such thing as ugly clothes. There are just creative clothes. Although I would never wear pink pants or socks with sandals, if someone else wore them, they'd be showing their sense of style, and style is beautiful. Style is only gone when you have to wear uniforms
Heres a friendly tips for those girls who are looking for cute and inexpensive jewelry. At Walmart there is a jewelry line called Panama Jack. The jewelry is tropical and totally cute which matches Hollister and Aero's Cali looks.
I konw how hard it is to come up with $$ to spend @ the big brand names *(i.e. Hollister, Abercrombie and American Eagle), but don't get left in the dust when your friends go out shopping to these super trendy (and spend-y) stores! go shopping on your own and find the same clothes at cheaper stores, like target, fred meyer and WalMart. When your trendy friends ask where you got your clothese (that look like theirs!) answer proudly: "oh these? target." Don't be ashamed of your smarts to shop @ other places. your friend EmmaLeeRocks (trendy, not so spend-y!)

My one friend and I only own shirts from Hollister , AEO and Abercrombie, but we'r both uber nice and people like us. cassida, People do wear those clothes everyday beilieve it or not. I do. Take my advice. Shop the sales shelves at Hollister, i got a long sleeve shirt for $12 once.Everything that is once $50, is at some pointt between $14-$20ish. Just wait 3 months after hoodie season and you can get it for like $20 cheaper!!

Vineetha, if u can, wear fun jewelry and shoes, to show your style while still following the school uniform. also the makeup u wear and hairdos can show people da person u r. take fun occasions like dances to dress up. i mean u dont need to be totally fancy, but a fun tee and skirt with lotsa jewlery is great!!

Also not everything has to be brand new. Go to thrift stores, Goodwill, and stores like TJ Max. They have clothes that are just as cute, and definitely not as expensive! I saw an abercrombie miniskirt there for 3 dollars! Instead of $40 dollars you'd pay for it normally.
Instead of a hoody that says Hollister of Abercrombie or whatever, just get a plain hoodie in a cool color and put cool pins on it with sayings you like. I mean, a brand name hoodie can be $50 and a plain one from a department store can be $10 or $20! I have a green hoody from JC Penny. The pin on it is so cute it says "Against animal testing" with a picture of animals at school taking a test!

NAME BRAND STUFF IS COOL! but u dont want 2 much of it. i have a few items from hollister, a&f, aero and more, but DONT BE A WALKING MODEL! go 2 dots, wet seal, deb and more for cute, trendy and NOT "NAME PLASTERED ALL OVER THE SHIRT" looks. I don't like a lot of current teenage styles. I don't like layering, unless it's with a sweatshirt to keep you warm. Low-cut is disgusting! If you buy stuff with brand names all over it, you have become a walking billboard. And I absolutely don't like baby dolls. My new thing is a short-sleeved shirt on top of a long sleeved shirt. Blue over green looks awesome! Also, red and gold are a winning combo. One of those thick, cloth, sparkely headbands look fantasic with anything!

And I think that designer knockoffs are insulting to the real designers, and I would never buy any fakes. Those are rude, especially since the designers have to pay the seamstresses and everyone has to make a living!
Excuse me? I'm not obsessed with name brands, I just like the designers! You can admire people's work, but you don't have to obsess over it. I don't care so much about brands as I do the designers as people and artists, and the quality of clothes. I'm going to be a fashion desiger, and I need to know the industry!

LOL. well, its getting warmer and of course the cute new spring closthes r plasterd ALL OVER the store windows @ the mall---- it is SO hard not 2 shamelessly beg my mom 2 buy more, more, more! do any of u guys get that???? anyway, lucky my mom is a praactically professional shopper and she can see a begging attack coming b4 i say anything. anyway i got some cute stuff yesterday 3 tank tops from HOLLISTER for 6.00 each. Can u beleev it!!!!!!!!!! shopping w/mom has its perks. then i got these really cute shoes from the GAP [7.OO] and a pair of jeans [20.00] from the GAP.

I agree with teddybear916. Name brands don't matter. Go to a less expensive department store, buy something basic, and make it uniquely you. For example, make a belt for your jeans out of colorful paper clips, or sew a heart on the back pocket. Have your own style!

Winter wonderland
Ingredients 1. old Navy boot cut jeans 2. Uggs or fuggs 3. Forever21 shirt down to thigh if possible 4. Long sweater coat to knees (any brand is fine) no wind breakers girls has to be cut and long with buttons my brand betty page boiled wool coat 5. Hoop black and white polka dot earings 6. Long scarf 7. Cute hat 8. Long hair to shoulder blades*
*if short read then go to #14
9. Put on duh. 10. Tuck pants into uggs. 11. put on coat (if betty page leave open) 12. Take scarf ends put on back of neck so they are both in front. Take on side and wrap in back 13. Find braider in house and have them braid hair into two tights side braids 14. If hair it short put into to side little bunchies 15. If pixie cut just leave 16. Take shirt and wrap around hips 17. Put on some lip gloss and your ready to go

Yup, it's true that shopping is in my blood! I could shop for anything!!!! But i don't believe the saying "shop till' ya drop" cause I NEVER get tired of shopping. =]
omg i luv shopping, trends and latest fashion my favorite stores are hollister american eagle aeropostale and abercrombie denimgirl07 i think it is kinda wierd i have a couple of store logo shirts but most of my shirts don't have the logo like american eagle abercrombie and hollister have their animal thingy at the bottom of the shirt i mean that is fine but some people go too overboard with the store logo names i so agree with u!
I go shopping every one or two months at Hollister, Aeropostale, American Eagle, Claire's, and JC Penney. I only buy sale/clearance items, but I buy the original price items at Claire's.
i think hollister and abercrombie are cool, but i am sick of everyone obsessing over them. funky fashion is so much better. everyone should have their own style.
ok i so love it when my mom goes out and buys me the cutest cloths!!!! but yeah as if thats gonna happen i have to BEG my mom to get me cool cloths and i know this is gonna sound weird but oh well i dont really like shopping i just like to get some clothes and maybe some lip gloss from claire's and i am good to go!!!

dear hermione23, I like your style! But you need to go the extra mile! I'm not saying Old Navy is bad, it rocks! But I think you should trie Limited Two. Ok, so, I Christian Dior is my biggest designer idol. I saw a museum exhibit on his designs, pure genius! I don't like what the new designers always do under his brand, but the man was brilliant! I also like Betsey Johnson's style, and Lacoste suits my preppiness. But for a quick, easy fix for any style, American Eagle rocks! If you can't afford their normal prices, look for their sales and clearance racks. I got basic tees for $5 each, original price like $30! YOu might not care about band names, but AE has good quality and comfort for reasonable prices! My jeans from there haven't even begun to wear away at the knees yet, which always happened right away in my cheap jeans!
hey, skyreader26! You don't even need books for DIY fashion! I googled it and found a cool project for turning old ugly heels to kewl mettallic ones! There are some good books on that, but I forget the titles. Teen Vogue magazines always have a DIY project, and you can access all their DIY things on the web site. But sometimes you don't even need any guides. If you have an idea, go for it!
I would HATE going to a school with uniforms! That would be terrible! I love to express myself through my clothes. A lot of girls at my school, even the name-brand snobs, will randomly show up in sweats, but that is SO not me! I always get compliments for my clothes and style, even from the snobs! I like it that way, and would not want to wear the same things as everyone else. I set my own trends, and never follow anyone else's trends!

I love the babydoll fit tshirts from Aeropostale. I got 1 for 5 bucks! People where Abercrombie and Hollister but they have practicly the same type of clothes. I love to shop at Old Navy though. I used to hate jeans but I tried a pair on there and they have the best!!!! Brand names don't matter. A lot of the popular snobby kids where those clothes like everyday...i'm not saying if u wear those clothes ur snobby but it gets annoying!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with you, denimgirl07 . . . . You should see the girls and boys at my school. For one Hollister teacher, its, like $40! I mean, I'd much rather go to Aeropostale, where the clothes are twice as cute, and they have sales all the time!
Fashion can be used in a good way to express yourself and make yourself feel confident, but at my school some girls use it negatively. They think because they wear nothing but Hollister they are better they everyone and have the right to be mean to everyone. Boy do I wish my school had a uniform.

I love fashion, but it is hard for my family to afford new clothes for me. On my 11th birthday, I went to King of Prussia mall(a HUGE mall, I got lost!). But my style is-cute and trendy, but no brand names showing! It really bugs me when people wear store logo tee shirts! Hollister did NOT hire you to become a walking billboard for them!

ther tees r really cute and som times hav cool graphics but the best part is they r always on sale or clearance so i can get cute clothes 4 cheap prices o and hears a friendly tip 4 a cute yet simple accery 4 any hollister or aero (or any other store) outfit wear a pucca shell necklace it totally matchs that beachy, surfer girl look
