Hey guys! OK, greenowl and cookygirl202...you asked for my advice, so here it is! (Sorry if you don't like it, my syle tends to be a bit on the odd side...but I'll try to be practical!)
cookygirl202: Need a cute outfit? OK, since you don't have any skirts or dresses, try this instead: First of all, go for bright colors that don't clash. Turquoise and orange, yellow and blue, and purple and green are some of my favorites. Try to find a brightly colored top and layer a cool color over that. For bottoms, if you like to wear jeans, don't wear jeans that are ripped up or stained. Dark-wash and skinny are the best kind for the cute-factor. Or, since you don't have any skirts, try wearing dress pants or pants like khakhis or velvets. Your pants should probably be a more netural color, since you don't want to overdo the whole bright color thing! (Also, shorts can look cool, but not cute or dressy. If your trying to look nice, ditch the shorts!) For shoes, ballet flats are awesome for dressing an outfit up, or down. They come in all colors, too. BUT, if you don't have them, wear flip-flops or sandals. Or, if it's cold, you can even wear your winter boots! (I know it's Summer, but it's REALLY chilly where I live!) Finally, hair and accessories: Since you have a brightly colored top on and not-so-bright bottoms, you can go for chunky beads, slim gold or silver chains, pretty much anything you like! Just stay away from cheap plastic jewelry if you can; it can ruin a whole outfit! As for your hair, try putting it in two or one French braids or straighten it! OK, cookygirl, I am so sorry if you don't like this advice, but I suggest asking denimgirl07 for help if ou don't like this!
Now, moving on to green owl! greenowl: Wow, it sounds like you have a great skin and nice hair, so lots of stuff can work on you. Color-wise, whites, light pinks, greens, and blues, lilac purples, and sunflower yellows look great. But, with your tan, I'm pretty sure you can wear almost anything. And, since you want a new look, here are some tips:
1. Just because you need a new style DOESN'T mean you have to go out and buy all new stuff; you can make the things you already have work and then you can buy one or two new things if necessary! 2. Since you're medium-tall, high waisted stuff makes you look really short! Instead, go for babydoll tops that are tanks, form-fitting tees and camisouls, short shorts, Bermudas, and miniskirts and minidresses. Also, pants that are too tight can make you look short and chunky, too, so avoid them! greenowl, I am so sorry if you don't like this! I tried my best, and I hope people will turn to me for help again!

Advicegiver, Sorry! I cant believe I forgot about red heads! My bff is one! Okay here it is! red heads: Makeup: Gold is key because the gold would pick up the bueatiful brassy colors in your hair. Use a very black mascara and very pink blush. Lip gloss should be clear with a hint of cotton candy color! Color: Pink is really your color yet if you are not into that girly tone Green, a lime green is really a nice color for you. Dont wear Orange! Although on some red heads it does look quit interesting to wear BRIGHT orange!

I don't shop at Gap at all.. and none of my friends do, but I see many people in a grade lower wearing them. I mainly shop at Hollister, American Eagle, and Abercrombie and Fitch, although I also shop at many other places.

dolphinlover08- I've never been to Plato's Closet but my mom has. You can sell old clothes there, but they have rules about the clothes that they take like the shirt has to be 14 inches below the arm long, pants and shorts must have back pockets, and they don't take denim jackets. And there are only certain stores that they buy clothes from. What my mom did, she bought a ton of clothes for cheap at the thrift store when they were having a sale where you can buy a bag of clothes for $1. Then she sold them at Plato's closet and made some money! ♥ denimgirl07

Well I go to these stores called Plato's CLoset and Once Upon a Child.I always shop there because the clothes there are cheap and instead of going to like Limited Too or Justice or Aeropostle and getting one or two outfits for 100 bbucks you can get 22 outfits for 100 bucks at those stores so thats why I love to go to those places. I think more people should shop there.

My favorite clothes include: -fuzzy anything! (socks, sweatshirts, shoes, etc) -Lacoste polos and jackets -Ugg boots (I have short, ones in pink and chestnut and I love wearing them with straight leg jeans. -Coach purses (I don't own one, and I don't think they'll ever make my budget ) -Sperry Topsider boat shoes (They're good all year round and go with anything)
My favorite store is Old Navy because they sell nice, inexpensive, and good-quality clothes that wash well. I also shop at Abercrombie frequently because I think that they have a few pieces of nice clothing, non of which have the words "Abercrombie & Fitch" on them.

These aren't totally fashion, but they have fashion spreads:678th, Discovery Girls, and Justine (OK, Justine is techinically for older girls cuz it has advice about how to get into colleges, but it doesn't have anything bad in it, and it's really cool. It's my fave.) Teen Vogue has some articles about older stuff, but most of it is fashion spreads, eco-chic, and ads (that makes it sound kinda bad, but it has cool stuff in it, and each issue has DIY. If you aren't sure, check the website, which has all the spreads and DIY projects of all issues in past, just not really that many articles.) Also, Girl's Life is supposed to be for girls 10 and up, but a lot of that stuff is iffy, and my mom likes Teen Vogue way better, in terms of content.
Gosh people, let the walking billboard thing go already. ITS NOT true AND its offensive 2 the people who do wear Hollister everyday. So who the heck cares?, maybe ur just jealous, i dunno, buts its riduculous that some of u people think that this billboard stuff is a problem. I thought the same thing at 1st but once u have/wear like 3 Hollister shirts, people always asked me, "Didn't u wear Hollister the last few days, wheres this shirt from?" And I'll say Sears, & I get embarresed. U arent paying 4 the shirt to advertise, sure it helpls the company, but a shirt from Aero that shows no branding at all is $20 and so is a tee from Hollister. Instead of throwing out old jeans that are too short for you, do this! I mad bermuda shorts out of my old jeans. I just cute of the legs near my knees, rolled up the edges in a little cuff, then sewed the cuff there! Nobody can tell the difference beetween these and the $50 ones at the store! STYLE OF THE DAY- Today I wore a black, v neck top with elbow sleeves. It was black with little white polka-dots. I wore a white headband scarf thingy with black polka dots. It matched my top, but the cool part was how the top was black with white polka dots and the scarf was white with black polka-dots! Then I wore skinny jeans and one black flip-flop and one white flip-flop. (I can only wear crocs or sandals because of my ingrown toenail. ) One black and one white flip-flop sounds weird, but it was AWESOME and it matched the outfit perfectly! bria6785- OK! I'll be your friend. I just made an iPod cover for my iPod nanao! It only took me 5 minutes! Here's what you do- Find an old pair of jeans with a watch pocket in the front (it's one of those little rectangular pockets inside of the front pocket) Make sure your iPod fits in the pocket. Hot-Glue an appliqué, gems, or anything else on the front. Put your iPod in and see where the earphone hole is, then cut a hole in the pocket there so you can plug in your earphones! Enjoy! IT IS! How do I know? Because we asked them! And honestly, I don't know how they fit into those clothes. But sometimes I see little kids wearing Hollister tops down to their knees...maybe they do that!
And also, I agree with anyone who says wearing a Hollister top is being like a walking billboard! Sometimes I get annoyed when my friends wear Hollister shirts and jackets or Abercrombie shirts more that two days in a row. It's like..."Okay, okay, WE KNOW THAT YOU HAVE A HOLLISTER T-SHIRT! YOU CAN STOP ADVERTISING NOW!" Yikesers!

STYLE OF THE DAY, today i wore a lace purple shirt, black pants, hot pink star earrings and hot pink crocs! I blow dryed my hair and it was very puffy.
Style of the Day: To day I wore a navy blue, pink, and white stripped tee-shirt that stopped at the elbow. A vest that had the same colors as the tee-shirt. Tight jeans (light blue). And some flats that had the same color as my vest and tee- shirt.
U know, u can buy a shirt from hollister that says Hollister on it, or one that is just a polo and its the same amount of $. ANd so what, the little kids can look up to us, it's their parents buying the clothes.
STYLE OF THE DAY- Well, I wore the outfit I wore over the weekend to school today (after I washed it!), so I'll just tell you my FANCY SHMANCY PARTY DRESS STYLE OF THE DAY! For my band concert, we had to dress up, so I wore- a green kimono style dress with fluttery sleeves, a brown band around the middle, and a white tank top underneath. The dress had this really cute pattern of green cubes (like the SD optical illusion kind where they look the same upside down, if you know what I mean). I got the dress at ROSS! It was only 15$! I wore tights and brown ballet flats with silk ribbon from Payless shoes. I twisted the front sides of my hair and tied them back with a brown butterfly-shaped barrete. ♥ denimgirl07

denimgirl07 this girl at my school doesnt have a lot of money and she thiks everyone who does is mean. i have a decen amout and btw u dont have to be rich to buy from hollister 10-15 is not that bad. its mean to judge ppl on their clothes i like the style of hollister i dont buy the clothes to rub them in other ppls faces i buy them on sale and b/c i like them.

STYLE OF THE DAY- It was a little cold today, so I wore dark, skinny flare jeans from Justice, a polka dot baby blue tee shirt with a tree on it, my bright orange crocs with the strap up, and my blue bracelet with the chunky round beads! I wore my hair down and it dried wet so it was curly. ADVICE- We had a big test today, and I put my hair up in a ponytail for that! It really helps if your hair isn't hanging in your face the whole test!

OK, no offense to all of you guys, but if there's one thing that REALLY bothers me, it's Abercrombie. I mean, at my school (and this doesn't apply to all schools, believe me) if you wear abercrombie, you're automatically popular. And that really bothers me because there is not a single abercrombie store near my house, and the ones i went to hardly have anything in them. And what about kindness and humor and friendliness? Don't those charechteristics determine if your popular???
Does anyone know where you can get really good fashions or clothes at cheaper prices??? Abercrombie is like, 80 dollars a shirt!!!! lol. Maybe a thrift store...........
Oh and by the way, I like to go to stores like Hollister and Abercrombie, but I don't buy many shirts that say "Hollister" in huge letters across the front. Usually I just buy simple tank tops or jeans. I mean, your buying the clothes because you like them, not because of where they came from. Yesterday, my friends and I went shopping at Hollister. We saw three young girls ALONE (they were about seven) standing in the dressing room line. They were all holding skimpy bathing suits, super-short shorts, and strapless tops! Also, one time I was at my family's country club and we were at the pool, and I saw a group of girls wearing tiny bikinis from Abrcrombie, staring at some older guys. Well!

Right now at school I'm kinda torn between 2 groups of friends. M's group of friends and a couple of my other school friends. yodude, Just tell your mom the truth! Justify your reasons(uncomfy, ugly, cold, whatev)and explain that they're just not your style. Go shopping with her and show her things that you like(a lot more than capris), to give examples of what IS your style. As for shirts w/jeans, nearly anything goes. Try to balance, too:a billowy, floaty top with slim jeans, or a fitted top with looser jeans, boot-cut gets away with anything! What's your style like, and I can give more ideas.

yodude- Braids or pigtails are not babyish! You can do messy braids or put your hair in 1 braid to the side so it hangs over your shoulder. and you could even braid ribbon into it. ♥ denimgirl07
yodude, does your hair fly all over the place? if it does, i would try using some anti-frizz gel, i do and it helps a lot. but, if you just want to make it look better, what i would try would be to make a half-ponytail and curl the bottom half of your hair. and i dont think pigtails are babyish! one of my friends wears her hair in pigtails all the time and it looks great!
