This year I, Avery Koh Madden, resolve to…

1. Spend more quality time with my brothers. Especially Tim, because I don’t get to see him that much when he’s away at college.

2. Get organized. I know I can be pretty messy (my mom DOES call me the “walking hurricane”), but this year I’m going to do my best to put things where they belong so I don’t have to tear my house a part when I can’t find my homework, or my cleats, or my pet snake, Walter!

3. Study better, practice harder, have more fun. These seven words are going to be my mantra (the phrase I’ll repeat to myself to get inspired). Basically, this year, I just want to be an even more excellent version of me!

My new years resolution is to help people more when they are in need! For example a month ago the Los Angeles Mission got broken into (it is a place that keeps homeless people in their and will hold their money for them if they can't afford a bank account)and one homeless guy had his whole life savings was in their! So I decided my school should make some baked goodies and sell them and give the money we make to the Los Angeles Mission. it is $1.64 for a person to eat their and we made a little over $300 and that was only in one class that we did it in. I really want to do more things like that plus I take care of a girl that lives in Africa(Sengal) she is 5 years of age. I donate $30 to her every month and she couldnt go to school before and now she does! She calls me her mom and I call her daughter she is very special to me. I want to raise money so I can visit her in Africa!!

1.Honor and obey my parents and those who have authority over me~no matter if they ask me to do things that I think don't make sense I shouldn't sigh or groan...etc.

3. Get better grades~get better grades by doing my best and studying hard

7. Remember nobodies perfect and when one door closes another opens~even when life isn't going the way I want it to remember "when one door closes another opens" and when I get in trouble even when I try my hardest not to get in trouble remember nobody's perfect and learn from my mistake.

To try to stand up and make a difference. At my school you are only allowed to go to the educational movies if you are an all A student. I always can go but my friend who makes a B every now and then never can. I think that if you aren't as smart or aren't doing as well in school, you should be able to go to more educational movies, since they teach you things.
