No boyfriend for me. My mom and my Aunt Lourdes (we live with her) can be kind of strict, so they probably wouldn't be cool with me having a boyfriend, either. But that's OK with me - I like hanging out with the BSG way more than worrying about boy stuff anyway!

Wow, that situation sounds like it's no fun at all! Try talking to one of your friends alone, like one on one. It's sometimes easier for people to say how they really feel when there aren't a bunch of people around. Let her know that they're really hurting your feelings and ask her what's up, then see what she says.

You gotta have a serious chat with your parents and show them how responsible you are and how you've thought about all the ways you're going to take care of your phone and not use it too much or other things they might be concerned about. Your best chance is to be totally prepared to answer all the questions they have about it. They still might not want you to get a phone, but they might start considering it for the future!
hey Isabel, it's rocknroll1996 again but i was wondering wit i should do about this guy at school, well we kept looking at each other in social studies and 1 time at the dance he came up to me on a slow song and tried to talk to me. But the thing is that i liked him. The a little while later i found out the whole time i had my heads in the clouds he was down on earth with his girl friend and i had no idea. But if she knows and she does it anyway, you should talk to your favorite teacher about it (also in private.) Teachers sometimes have awesome tips for dealing with kids in your class - I mean, they have to deal with them all the time!

Maybe you could talk to her privately, like call her one night, and ask her to do something together, like just the two of you. That will probably make her feel more secure, like she doesn't have to prove she's cool enough for you guys to hang out with.

Maybe you could ask the family member you feel closest to (like your mom or your sister) to put aside a special time to talk to you about what's going on with you. Hola muga123, Giggle -- You're not the only who has noticed that I missed being part of the Movie Maker. As you know, I joined the BSG in the second book and the Movie Maker was created before then. (Some girls who recently became club members might not realize that the Movie Maker isn't new - just repaired.) We're looking into how to add me to the Movie Maker but it will take some time. Now, can you imagine if the Movie Maker didn't include Maeve!! :-)

Hola alenaz! You know what? It sounds like your art is stressing you out as much as school! Take a step back, chica, and take a deep breath. Art is supposed to be fun. I know it's really frustrating when your piece doesn't come out the way you want, but that's just when you can't give up. Put the piece away for a couple of days, and then come back to it with fresh eyes. You might see a way to fix it that you didn't before. In the meantime, try something else creative, like making up a dance or a new recipe. That'll get you re-inspired to create!

Hola LittleQueen_13! Boys can be so mean, can't they? The thing is, sometimes when boys make fun of you, it means they actually like you. Weird, right? OR it could be that they feel bad about themselves, and so they make fun of other people to feel better. But whatever the reason, it's totally not cool. Just ignore those boys, or if you feel at all threatened or like the situation is dangerous, definitely tell a teacher or your mom or any other adult you trust.

To me, it's easier to start with a still life (like a basket of fruit on a table or something) before you move on to landscapes or portraits of people.

Hola art_extravagant. I think you're right - getting involved with some clubs or other activities after school will def help you get to know the girls in your class better. It's hard to break into a group of friends who have known each other practically forever, so try getting to know just one or two of them at first. You don't have to be part of any particular group to have really great friends - you can make your own group!
I have lots of dreams! One of them is to have my cartoons published in a real newspaper or magazine. Or to show a piece of my art in a real gallery. That would be so amazing!

Ugh, I hate it when people spread rumors like that! Sooo annoying, because it's like whatever you say, you can't them to believe what really happened. Try to set the record straight with the guy people are talking about, but other than that, I would just ignore what people are saying.

You know, with school, drawing my cartoons for the Sentinel, doing homework, hanging out with the BSG at Montoya's, and helping out around the house, this chica is way busy! Isabel, i have a huge problem, I love 2 dance ballet, but
a. my friends dont like ballet. They say it is stupid and i dont want them 2 laugh @ me so i just say something like, "Yeah, who would want 2 do that?"
b. there is no dance studio near where i live, so even if i wanted 2 i couldn't have lessons
- so should i just stick 2 putting pledge on my floor and practicing in my room, or should i ask my mom 2 drive me a 2 a studio that is about a hour and a half away and have my friends no and tease me ( i go 2 a small skool so evry 1 would no if i went which would b embarassing since no 1 else likes it)?
Hola softmints66! I totally know how you feel - I love ballet too, but I have an injured knee, so I don't get to dance much anymore. If you're really into ballet, you should go for it, and don't worry about what your friends say. If driving to the studio is too far, try getting a book or a DVD with some ballet steps and exercises you can practice at home on your own.

Aw, fashion fever girl, I don't think you're a baby! And I bet your friends don't really think that, either. Did you honestly tell them how much it hurts your feelings when they make fun of you? If they're still mean even after that, you might want to tell your mom or teacher or another adult that you trust about how you're feeling. Grown-ups can sometimes help you figure out solutions you wouldn't have thought of on your own.
dear isabel, i just entered a new school. i went from the elementry school to the middle school. i got so scared. everybody there is so much bigger and it is hard to find my way around. i need some tips on how to fit in.
Going to a new school was hard for me, too. Good thing I found four awesome friends! But not everybody accepted me right away. My best tip is to just be yourself and be friendly to everyone. And as for finding your way around - ask for a map of the school! At home you can draw out all the ways you walk during the day.

Hola colorado cutie 17. It's so nice that you want to support your friend and her mom! Prob the best thing you can do right now is be there for your friend to listen to her worries. You could offer to help her out with stuff around her house, too, like cleaning her room or cooking dinner with her family. Mainly just let her know you're there for her, no matter what. That always makes me feel sooooo much better when I'm down about my mom!
