“Through Cell Phones for Soldiers, we’ve been able to reach out so many families who have loved ones serving our country overseas. We’ve met many of them, as well as three- and four-star generals in the United States military.” -Brittany That’s right—Brittany and Robbie not only collect phones, but they’ve also done a ton of traveling, speaking, and meeting with super-important people (like the president!) to talk about Cell Phones for Soldiers and how their organization is improving the lives of soldiers and their families. They’ve also won many awards for the work they have put into Cell Phones for Soldiers and the widespred results they've accomplished. “Millions of people have old phones just sitting in drawers, but they can donate them to be recycled, and we can use the money to help a soldier talk to his or her family from far away.” -Robbie Believe it or not, old phones will eventually give off toxic chemicals that are harmful to the environment if they are not recycled. So, donating phones to Cell Phones for Soldiers not only helps the environment, but it also helps a worthy cause! Phones can be dropped off in any of AT&T’s stores worldwide or any official Cell Phones for Soldiers collection box. They’ve been in books, magazines, and have appeared on CNN and TV shows like Good Morning America, The CBS Evening News, and The View. Recently, Brittany’s story and photo appeared in Teen Vogue, and she’s one of the new faces of the "Girls Move the World" campaign started by MUDD Jeans that is currently featured in Seventeen and CosmoGIRL! magazines. Brittany and Robbie are like celebrities themselves! “We’re still kids with flaws—we’re pretty normal. You don’t have to be exceptional in any way to make a difference; you just have to be yourself.” –Brittany Britty is so right. When she and Robbie first started Cell Phones for Soldiers, the response was small. Now, with a lot of hard work, it has grown and grown into something truly remarkable! And, when they’re not working on Cell Phones for Soldiers, Brittany is in the 11th grade at Norwell High School in Massachusetts, and loves cheerleading and fashion. Robbie is in 10th grade at Boston College High School (also in Massachusetts) and is super good at soccer and other sports. “We’ve been told no before, but you can’t stop until people say yes. Don’t think you have to wait until you’re older because when kids get involved, it’s a sincere and legitimate commitment.” –Robbie Brittany and Robbie have super-supportive parents and an older sister who have helped them every step of the way. But, Brittany and Robbie came up with the idea, got the organization off the ground, and see to all the day-to-day stuff all by themselves. Plus, they’re both super excited about expanding Cell Phones for Soldiers to include Canada and other countries. They want to reach the point where all soldiers can talk to their families free of charge courtesy of donations by families like yours. ********** Got a cell phone to donate?
