At the very top, reaching high in the sky, is an ancient tree. A HAUNTED tree. From my bedroom window, I can see eyes winking out from its branches, I can hear the voices sighing from its roots. No one goes up there. No one ever dared. Until last Halloween. My best friend May and I, we dared each other. “Betcha you won’t climb up,” I said. “Betcha you won’t come with me,” May answered.
