Got Makeup Tips?
Hey Chicas,
I love color. And not just one color … all of them! I know what blends, what clashes, when it’s OK to be daring, when it’s better to stick with the basics. I’m proud to say that I’m kind of an expert on this! One of my favorite things to do—when I’m not painting, making collages, or playing basketball—is to experiment with makeup. I don’t wear a lot, and I don't ever wear it to school, but just the right amount of makeup can really make your eyes sparkle and your skin glow … and it’s fun to try different shades and glosses. Here are three easy makeup tips from me, and read below for some makeup tips from real girls like you! Less is more: When applying power makeup like eye shadow and bronzer, put a very small amount of powder on the brush. That way you don’t overload! Adding a little at a time will help you get the perfect shade. Go for a natural look: Makeup comes in ALL colors—sometimes crazy ones like neon green!—but the look that is best on everyone is the natural look. Always match your powder or foundation with your skin tone and think about which hues will look best with your color eyes, cheeks, and lips. Easy on the eye makeup: I see so many girls at Abigail Adams Junior High with spidery eyelashes and thick, black lines of eyeliner on their lids. Mascara is meant to make your lashes look longer, darker, and fuller. Not cakey and stubby! Eyeliner is trickier—follow my first tip (less is more, add a little at a time!) to get the right amount for you.
