A Talkative Girl Gets Tongue-Tied

Okay, so why is it that I talk up a storm with Charlotte, Isabel, Avery, and Maeve, but when it comes to talking to boys… I feel like I have nothing to say! We had this dance a few weeks ago and an eighth-grader asked me if I wanted to dance with him! Yay! He seemed pretty cool at the dance, and I kind of want to get to know him better as a friend. But, whenever we see each other in the halls, it’s like “Hi.” And that’s it!

I need some help, ladies. I need some tips on talking to crushes—and I’m sure I’m not alone!

Sometimes, just talking to boys gives me the heebie-jeebies! How do you get over being totally scared to talk to a crush?

I usually have trouble talking to boys only when i look into their eyes, and i used to dart my eyes around which made me look like a total dork, so i made this trick that works pretty well. i just stare at a really cool something that he's wearing, and only move my eyes up to meet his every five seconds or so, really fast. that way he'll think that im interested in his style, and he'll enjoy talking to my cos it seems like i'm so calm and don't get all jittery when talking to him. try it!

	I know how you feel, sometimes even "I" get a little tounge tied, the best thing I do is talk to myself in the mirror, plan out what I'm going to say. One time I got all tounge tied, and embarassed myself infront of him, later he came up to me and asked to be my partner for Science Camp! Breathe, and relax is the key.

a way to not get tongue tied in front of a crush is to get used to talking to him like if you actually have a conversation with him then you can get to know him so you wont get totally tongue tied in front of him then you never know if he might start to like you back so start slow and then go up to having a conversation with him and youll be a total pro at talking to any crush you have so stay cool and collecting quit trippin and just talk to him smilies/wink.gif

NOTE:
1-if you cant find anything to talk about write aon a small paper what you love talking about and talk with him about it and when you get nervous and dont know what to talk about just get off the paper and search for something.

2-the paper should be long and have at least 10 to20 ideas that will help.

3-put numbers to the ideas.

My crush happens to be my best guy friend, so we eat lunch together anyways! I get really nervous around him, and kind of klutzy (he's used to it, though!), so I try really, really,really hard to be as lady-like as possible. That way, if I'm doing my best, I'll probably come off as normal. (I hope...) Plus, I keep my other friendsaround me while we talk to guys. Having your friends there talking to guys around you boosts your confidence, and will boost theirs, too. It's a win-win situation!

I would just start up a normal conversation (like what did u think of that new book we have to read in LALB), BUT ONLY if you are by him. You don't want to seem like you like him right away otherwise he might feel uncomfortable talking to you and then not want to talk to you at all! Eventually he might start up a conversation when he sees you in the halls. Then you take it however u want.
P.S. I haven't actually tried this but from watching Movies (Maeve u can learn stuff from the movies) and just watching others i'm pretty sure it will work.

well... heres how i got three guys to LIKE LIKE me (not at the same time of course...lol?):

1) if you dont know your crush very well, then first whenever you see him, just a simple quick smile will do for awhile.

2) after awhile (you'll just have a feeling when its after "a while" say "hi" with a smile

3) start talking to him in small quick conversations

4) start exdending the conversations

5)he'll take over then

but remember, ALWAYS be yourself, and just pretend your talking to a normal friend.

What I do if I can't talk to a crush I send him a note. I think it's a great way to get started and when you write on the note you can't get tongue-tied. Then when you get more cofortable you can talk to him face to face!

I was hannging around witha friend and we started playing withthis boy abd then after my friend left he and I jumped waves and skipped rocks exta....soooo I said to him lets meet at the pool and the sauna at 9:00 and I was extreemly nervous and so he made his friends leave the pool and sauna area just 4 me soooo .... now I have his e-mail and phone number and I called him and I said do U want to be my boyfriend? and he said yes!!!!So....
