KISS Concert 2008

Hi!

Maeve here. A little bit of rain and cold didn’t faze nearly 20,000 fans attending KISS Concert 2008 on Sunday, May 18, in Mansfield, Massachusetts, hosted by KISS 108 FM. There were WAY too many rockin’ stars on stage!

Performances included the Jonas Brothers, Jesse McCartney, Leona Lewis, Sara Bareilles, Natasha Bedingfield, and of course, Sean Kingston. And—lucky me—I scored tickets to this sold-out concert!

kiss_jonas.jpgJonas Brothers: Fresh from their Look Me in the Eyes tour, the boys took the stage for one of their trademark ELECTIFYING performances. Seriously! Joe was running around doing splits and hopping on the piano, Kevin was rocking out on the guitar, and Nick was singing his heart out, playing guitar, playing piano—he was doing it all! The JoBros started off with "That’s Just the Way We Roll," threw in a little "S.O.S." and ended with the swoon-worthy "When You Look Me in the Eyes."

kiss_Jesse.jpgJesse McCartney: OK, I know I’m not the only girl who luuuuved "Beautiful Soul" when it hit the airwaves back in 2004, but Jesse is back now with a slightly different sound. He’s showing off a new R&B side, which is cool because I was totally dancing in the aisles to the songs he played from his new album, Departure, like the radio hit "Leavin’."

kiss_Leona.jpgLeona Lewis: Speaking of Jesse McCartney, did you know that he co-wrote Leona’s amazing hit song "Bleeding Love?" Who knew?! Leona herself took the stage at KISS Concert 2008 in some fabulous black shoes and a stunning blue dress. This 23-year-old starlet shot to fame after winning the popular British TV series The X Factor, which is similar to American Idol. Simon Cowell even likes her!

kiss_Sara.jpgSara Bareilles: This girl is just… COOL. Plain and simple. Sara has a fabulous voice AND she can play the piano like nobody’s business—even though Sara herself says she did not like practicing piano when she was little. Her catchy tune "Love Song" has been happily stuck in my head for weeks, but that is fine with me because I love to belt it out in the shower!

kiss_Natasha.jpgNatasha Bedingfield: Like Leona Lewis, Natasha is HUGE in the United Kingdom and has found similar success in North America. Her first single, "These Words," is one of my faves, but since then, she has put out hits like "Unwritten," "Love Like This," and "Pocketful of Sunshine"—all tracks that she performed on stage at the concert.

Other cool artists performing at KISS Concert 2008 were Boys Like Girls, Cascada, Ferras, Gavin DeGraw, Metro Station, Ray J, Wyclef Jean, Maroon 5, and New Kids on the Block.
