Green Celebs
Get ready to celebrate—April 22 is Earth Day! We all know how important it is to pitch in and make small changes to our daily lives that can and WILL help the environment. When I get to Hollywood and become famous, I’m totally going to be a big advocate of going green. Until then, here’s my list of cool celebrities who are making some big changes! Brittany Curran: Our pal (and Disney Channel star!) Brittany recently participated in A Burbank Earth Day, which is a huge event all about helping the environment. Brittany rolled up her sleeves and did some serious gardening along with other VIPs of the city to help make it more beautiful. Go Brittany! The Jonas Brothers: Yes, the world benefits from their overall cuteness, but it ALSO benefits from their second CD, Jonas Brothers. This album was the first to be manufactured using CDVU+ technology, which means it skips the multi-paged paper booklet and plastic case for a more eco-friendly 100-percent-recyclable package containing a CD loaded with online extras. Kelly Clarkson: The original American Idol is just one of many singers to sign on with Reverb.org, a company that helps entertainers plan their tours in a way that reduces the amount of carbon dioxide emissions. Reverb also sets up booths where concert-goers can find out more about saving the environment! Selena Gomez: This star of Wizards of Waverly Place helps raise awareness about environmentalism with pals Jason Dolley, Emily Osment, and Mitchel Musso through attending tree-planting events and supporting programs that help kids get involved in being GREEN! Cameron Diaz: The voice of Princess Fiona in the Shrek movies has been enviro-chic for a loooong time. Cameron -- along with her famous friend, actress Gwyneth Paltrow -- works closely with the Environmental Media Association to encourage Hollywood celebs and productions to GO GREEN! Leonardo Dicaprio: This famous actor (you know, the guy who says “I’m king of the world!” in Titanic?) produced and narrated an environmental documentary called The 11th Hour. He was also one of the first celebs to start driving a hybrid car, and he recently bought a condo in an eco-friendly apartment building in New York City! Brad Pitt: Sure, Brad helps out with Angelina’s humanitarian efforts, but he’s been leading his OWN eco-revolution since 2006. He started the Make It Right foundation, which brings together top architects and carpenters to build eco-friendly homes in the parts of New Orleans that were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. *Isabel's got the scoop on makeup, lotions, and potions that are good for your skin AND the Earth. you tell us ...
If you were a GREEN celeb, how would you get the word out about helping the environment?
