Should You Tell Him?

I know what you’re thinking: “I have a crush… should I tell him???” If you’re like me, you might spend hours, days, MONTHS agonizing over the pros, the cons, the consequences, and the risks. You’ve played out the scene in your head hundreds of times, but when it comes down to actually doing it, the right time never seems to come. Take my mini-quiz below and find out if you should take the plunge!  Or, spend a few minutes answering the questions on our new survey; it's all about boys and dating and stuff!

1. I have a crush on…
(a) a guy friend. We tell each other everything!
(b) a boy in my class who I talk to sometimes.
(c) a guy I’ve never actually met before.

2. He is soooo cute! But, what I also like about him is that…
(a) he tries hard in school and he’s nice to me and other people.
(b) he’s kind of shy, so he’s a little mysterious and cool.
(c) he’s super smart and everyone loves him.

3. I feel like maybe he likes me, too, because…
(a) he really listens me and we always have fun together.
(b) he kind of looks at me funny sometimes and smiles.
(c) we had to hold hands at an assembly, and I think he squeezed my hand!

4. My crush’s friends…
(a) are kind of like my friends, too. We can hang out and it’s totally cool.
(b) are kind of loud, but I don’t really know them.
(c) are not my friends. I don’t even know who they are!

5. My BFFs don’t know I like him. If they found out, they’d probably be like…
(a) “I knew it! You guys are always hanging out together!”
(b) “Cool! Since you only kinda know him, want me to go talk to him for you?”
(c) “Wow… he doesn’t even know your name. How will you get him to notice you?”



If you answered mostly A’s: You and this boy have a great thing going as friends, which is awesome! But, keep in mind that even if you both like each other, it doesn’t mean you HAVE to be bf/gf. Like, if one of you isn’t ready to be more than friends, things COULD get awkward for a while. But, if that’s a risk you’re willing to take, I’d say go for it!

If you answered mostly B’s: Ladies, this might be the beginning of a beautiful friendship. lol! Think about sending out the good-friend vibe first, rather than the crush vibe. Give him some time to get to know you (and you him)—otherwise, he might feel overwhelmed and totally surprised knowing you like him. In this situation, go with your gut!

If you answered mostly C’s: These crushes are sometimes the best because you get to daydream all day long about what he’s probably like and how sweet he would be if he found out you like him. In your head, he’s the perfect boy. But, in reality, he might not be right for you! Definitely get to know him as a friend first to see if you guys are cool as friends. If you’re not, it might be time to notice OTHER boys!

Bottom Line: Many girls have crushes that they keep secret, and that’s totally OK. Some girls and guys even have crushes on each other and never really admit it. That’s also OK. Don’t feel pressure to try to make your feelings into a bf/gf relationship before you’re ready.

I have never told a crush i like him but i know a great friend who wants to. But shes nervous he would feel the same way. Lots of girls have the fear but that shouldn't stop you from telling him. You could tell me and if he says 'i think of you as just a friend', say okay me too, and shake it off like it didn't matter much. If he says yes then you can agree and make him feel important. By telling all that hidden emotion is cramped inside of you and it really is unhealthy. You'll just dwell on something and once you get it over with them you will feel so much better. Move on with your live. One guy isn't worth all that time of your and effort. Be proud of yourself for trying and don't give up. Someone will be out their to return your feelings and make you feel great. If you enjoy this advice please click the heart. i told xxxx that my friend, maevegirly, liked him. she was really mad. she said 'you were my best friend! how could you tell him?!' and then i said 'i'm your best friend? you're not mine!' 'oh, i am really mad!' eventually we made peace, but not after a while. and now we aren't bff's. just regular friends.

My friend sometimes calls me a dork and a nerd and kind of acts like she's way out of my league (me behind below her). Now, don't get the idea she's a bad friend cuz she isn't. Sometimes when u bring out the bad spots in people they seem awful, but I swear she's not. And this is just some of the time. But I get really annoyed by the way she acts, and I don't know what to do.

That is awesome your moving on! I feel bad about what happend, but I'm glad you taking it well! Your friend prob. wants you to have an awesome summer so don't get all down go out and have fun! So you can tell her all the stuff you did this summer! Ya my crush I think we will be better off as friends for now. I have been doing awesome! I finally had the guts to tell my crush but my bff did it at a party. It was my 6th grade end of the year party and I absolutely knew the time was right, so my bff told and when she did he said ok and walked away. I was majorly embarrassed when my bff told me what he did!!! I was like hiding outside while it happened! At the party I went outside to get some air because it was really stuffy and exactly as I walked in I saw him give this girl a hug, that like broke my heart because as I walked in they were dancing with eachother. I am just going to move on. But at least I finally did it and just told. My best friend went off to camp for the whole entire summer this morning, I am gonna miss her!! OMG happy belated birthday!!!! Wow your 14 now!! I am turning 13 in september! That is majorly awesome that you not only saw your BFF but saw her brother too!! That must have been the greatest thing!

WOW I would be so tempted to tell my friends who i met at a bat mitzvah! Anywayz i think that you should say something simple to him like say "I had a great time at the bar mitzvah did you have fun too?" say something like that and that will get a conversation flowing for you! That happens a lot of the time like I really really had a crush on this boy and at school he would hardly talk to me as much as he did outside of school. I went to his sister's bat mitzvah. He asked me to dance for lots of songs, including one slow dance. He gave me about 10 necklaces that light up (from the DJ), and he was such a gentlemen.
