Puppy Props to Uno!

History was made this year at the Westminster Dog Show, held Feb. 12 at Madison Square Garden, when a three-year-old beagle named Uno took home the top prize of Best in Show. This is the first time in its 132-year history that Westminster has named the Snoopy-like breed as the winner!

Well, Uno won, of course, since I wasn’t there. I couldn’t make it this year because I was… uh… busy. Yeah, busy. So, I have to hand it to Uno for being named the champion over 2,627 dogs of 169 breeds who entered the show!

Many people thought poodles would take top honors this year—I rooted for them since ma cherie, La Fanny, is of the poodle persuasion. But, Uno charmed the crowd AND the judges to pull ahead of two poodles, a Sealyham terrier, a Weimaraner, an Australian shepherd, and an Akita.

Dog shows are held across the country, and the pups are usually put into a breed category and judged based on the way they look, move, and act as well as their height, weight, coat, colors, eye color, ear shape, feet, and tail. Uno, whose favorite toy is a yellow rubber duckie, was top dog this year, so he’ll kick off a celebu-pet tour of TV shows, appearances, and signing his paw-tograph!

I know, you know, and I know that you know that I would get a perfect score in ALL categories. Perhaps next year I’ll be the one posing proudly by the trophy for the… puppyrazzi!

	I think my dog, Sadie the black Lab, could win because shes loyal, and friendly, and all around loveable. She even feels guilty when she steals my shoe, i can tell because she goes to lick and smuggle me to death to say sorry!! I am very proud of her. Guess what Marty!!! I have three yellow labs and you would most likely quallify for thier BFF. I have told them all about you. And lately these days, I think they have been looking for you. Any way, the youngest Sammy, is a 1 year old yellow lab. Next is Maggie, a 6 year old yellow lab. Last is Allie, she is a 6 almost 7 chocolate lab. Ps. people who dont like you are weird!!!

Hi Marty,

My Dog would win the dog show for sure. she is a black lab and her name is onyx. she is the best dog that anybody would want!

I'll tell you about her and why i think she would win.

She is GREAT with kids because if when are sick or sad she is always the 1st one there to see what's wrong. She is very smart she knows sit stay and all the main stuff.

my fave thing she does is count!! Its funny we will tell her to sit then stay and we say " onyx what is 1 1"? and she will bark 2 times

she is so pretty she has that cute little puppy like look still even if she is 5 years old lol

she has also saved us one night to men came to the door and mom opend it and onyx would not stop barking our showing her teeth she new they were bad!!

So that is my onyx smart sweet cute and funny!
