Club BSG:

Hi, thanks for writing! We had a fabulous opportunity to connect our fans and the Jonas Brother fans! The band was going to be visiting Boston and agreed to sit down with our team to answer questions from the website. We posted this opportunity to the site and within hours had over a 1000 different questions! We picked out the best ones and the boys were so patient, answering as many as they could in the time we had with them before they went on stage. They also allowed us to videotape a greeting for girls to send each other from our site.

Meanwhile, we're working on some more exciting opportunities! It's hard work, reviewing all the different celebrity and artists -- looking for appropriate role models for our fans.

I was wondering where I can buy the books
Club BSG:
BSG books are available in most major book store chains in the USA and Canada, as well as hundreds of independent book stores. Just ask your local bookseller if you don't see the book you need and they can order it for you. In addition, books are sold online at Amazon and through our online bookstore -- www.bsgshop.com
Note: there may be some scarcity in the market right now as we're shifting the printing of our books to Simon & Schuster who will start distributing the books in June but all the books can be ordered.

Thanks so much for answering so fast! I know Sidnee#8 is on so much she just loves it! I have to yank her off the computer sometimes! I thank you so much for having a good web-site for girls her age! Just one more question that I hope you can answer. Sidnee#8 would love it if the #12 book would be in the list of books that are on this web-site. Is there anyway that is possible?
Club BSG:
She should see that up some time this week!

I was wondering is the book "times up" really #12 of the BSG books? I was going to buy it for my daughter, but it does not say anything about it on this website? So PLEASE answer is it #12 or not?
Club BSG:
This is a case where our fans (such detectives) are out ahead of us! Yes, Time's Up is book #12 in the series. It is listed on some other websites which get their information directly from a publisher feed. Now that we're working with Simon & Schuster instead of publishing them ourselves, this kind of thing happens. It is also listed as a book in the series in the book list in Ghost Town #11 and Fresstyle with Avery. Time's Up will be available in stores in June 2008, alongside Katani's Jamaican Holiday, our 4th special adventure. BTW, Sidnee#8 is one of our favorite 'regulars' on the site! Give her a hug from us at B*tween!

I just took your survey on dating and preteens. One of the questions asked was about one of the girls getting kissed at 12. I checked yes with the hope that it would be in good taste.

Club BSG:
Thanks so much for helping out with the survey. We take this issue very seriously and we will stay true to our mission of providing girls with quality media that is positive and age-appropriate but is still fun and exciting. The question for us is, what is age-appropriate on this issue? There are a lot of different opinions. Thanks again for your input -- I am starting to feel like a "yes" vote on this topic is a vote based on the confidence people have in the creators of the Beacon Street Girls.

I am writing about the questions... should one of the BSG girls get a kiss in the next book. I think that there should be a kiss, but it needs to teach girls that they don't NEED one right away. I think this will teach my daughter that she does not need one even though she seems to want one. Do any of you agree? I love the book and thank you for every thing!

Hello... I would like to voice my opinion on your Beacon Street Girls series. I happened to grab a Beacon Street Girls book. I can't remember, maybe #6. Since then, I have taken my 10 year old daughter to Border's to get the other books in the series. She has now read every one and even turned her girlfriends on to the series. We have actually been to Border's many times recently looking to see if the newest book (Katani's Jamaican Vacation is out yet. That is when I decided to check your website. My daughter can't wait till it hits the shelves. As far as a parent's comments... I must say that as a parent that cares dearly about what his children read and watch, it is nice to know that there is a quality series for young girls with material that is "acceptable" for kids. Too many books have language or themes that I think are too much for my naive, innocent children. Thank you for putting out something that is perfect for young girls. Thank you very much.

The Mainely Girls book club is doing well, and "Just Kidding" in
particular has proved to be a favorite on our book list!

I just took the survey on dating and first kiss. When asked Thinking back to when you were a preteen did you tell your parents of your first kiss? Yes or No. Well, actually neither because I didn't kiss as a preteen. I think that kissing is the first step to the next step and the next step, etc. I teach my daughters to save themselves for their husband. I have an 18 yr old, 12 yr old and an 19 month old. I hope there are other mothers and fathers teaching their children the same.
Club BSG:
Thanks for leaving this message! You are absolutely right. We should reword this question. We're trying to get a variety of opinions from parents and kids on this survey. Thanks for helping us!

who is the author

Club BSG:
Hi Kevin,
Annie Bryant is a pen name for a group of several authors who write for the Beacon Street Girls. No single author can keep up with the demand for more BSG books and our schedule of four books every year!

Editorial Director, Roberta MacPhee and her assistant, Beth Newman develop the stories, and work with the authors to ensure that the narrative, characters and dialogue of each book are totally BSG.

Thanks for writing!

WOW! I'm impressed! My 9 y.o. came home with a BSG book and wanted to show me the website. I'm careful to pre-approve and screen all of my kid's online activity, so after 'investigating' the Beacon Street Girls, I am more than happy to encourage my daughter and her friends to enjoy this site and the book series! Way To Go!
I hope you'll continue to be a "beacon of light" to this age group!

Just saw these books and accessories at a local store in my town and came home to look up this website. Just wanted to say THANK YOU for a great alternative to what is out there for these young girls. I also have two girls and am not happy with what society is teaching them to do/say/think these days! Good for you!!

Thank you very much for the detailed note to parents about changes on the BSG website.

My daughter has loved receiving replies from the characters and being able to provide reviews.

We really love the BSG series and have given it as a gift to get other tween readers hooked too.

When I get frustrated with adult books I confess that I will read a BSG book --- I tell my 11 year old that I read them to know what she is reading but I really enjoy it! It makes me feel like I am reading about my daughter and her friends.

The diversity of the characters and their relationships is exemplary.

Thank you very much for the BSG!
Regards,
Mom to 2 tween girls

Club BSG:
Hi Purpleflower,
Of course, every child is different, but our books, products and this website were designed specifically with preteen girls (ages 8 or 9 to 13 or 14.) The biggest group on our site is the 10 year-olds but we have girls who are 6 or 7 who come for the dress up games, and teenagers who give fantastic sage advice to their younger "sisters." In addition, we carefully monitor all the posts. All of that aside, your involvement in your child's online experience, will keep it "OK." Thanks for writing!

My daughter, age 9 is half way through Book 1. I am actually reading it with her and am enjoying it as much as she is. It's hard to find a series of books that we can enjoy together. I have to force her to put the book down to go to sleep. I love it!!! Thanks for providing quality literature.

Thanks,

Just writing to say that I approve of my daughter's registration with the Beacon Street Girl's website. She really enjoys reading your books and has quite a collection now. Thank you, I trust you continue writing good, real and wholesome stories about girls and for girl to read.

Kind regards
