OFFICIAL RULES & REGULATIONS

NO ENTRY FEE. NO PURCHASE OR OBLIGATION NECESSARY TO PLAY OR WIN. MANY WILL ENTER; FEW WILL WIN.

 

Entry deadline is November 5, 2008 at 11:59 p.m. PST.

1. Eligibility: The Halloween Short Story Contest 2008 is open to all fans of the Beacon Street Girls age 18 or younger. Employees of sponsor and affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, immediate family members and persons living in the household are not eligible to participate in the Contest. Participation in the Contest constitutes entrant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules & Regulations. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.

2. To enter without obligation: You may enter the Contest by mailing up to three designs of a complete outfit meant to be worn on the first day of school to:

Entries must be postmarked no later than November 5, 2008. Use of robotic, automatic, programmed or the like entry methods will void all such entries by such methods. Only three entries per person, household, and/or email address are permitted. Contest entrants submitting more than three stories will only be considered based on the first three stories and no more.

 

3. Complete submissions must include a fictional story (no more than 700 words) that begins with the "Spooky Story Starter" indicated on the contest page. Complete submissions must also include the entrant's first and last name, mailing address, email address, and parent's email address. We do not keep this information longer than necessary to evaluate entries.

4. Judging and awarding of prizes: Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received. All Contest entries meeting the requirements of these Official Rules and Regulations will be evaluated upon the following criteria: 50% effort, 25% creative writing skill, and 25% originality of story. Stories will be judged by B*tween Productions staff on or around November 15, 2008, at B*tween's offices. One (1) winner plus four (4) runners-up will be chosen among all entries.


5. Prize: The first place winner will receive a Haunting Hour: Don't Think About It DVD and matching movie poster signed by Brittany Curran (retail value: $25); the winner and four runners up will have their stories published in the Creative Writing Club on BeaconStreetGirls.com. By entering, the participant consents for his/her entry to be considered for publication on the Web site.

 

6. Notification of Winners: The winner and runners up will be notified by email within five (5) business days of the prize awarding. If a selected winner cannot be contacted or is ruled ineligible, the prize will be forfeited.

7. General Rules: By entering, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules & Regulations. The Contest is offered by the sponsor, which is B*tween Productions, Inc., home of the Beacon Street Girls. Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, delayed, damaged, postage-due, incomplete, illegible, or misdirected entries, responses, or other correspondence whether by email or postal mail or otherwise, or for theft or destruction or unauthorized access or alterations of entry materials, phone, electrical, network, computer, hardware, software program, or transmission malfunctions, failures, or difficulties. Sponsor's decisions in all respects relative to the Contest are final. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any winner, as determined by sponsor in its sole discretion. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. All federal, state, provincial, and local regulations apply.

8: Additional Conditions: Except where prohibited, by submitting stories, the winners consent to their winning entries and statements attributed to the winners (if true) for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation. All entries become the property of B*tween Productions, and none will be acknowledged or returned.

9. Winner's List, Official Rules & Regulations: For a list of winners or a copy of these official rules, send your request and a stamped, self-addressed envelope postmarked by December 31, 2008, to:
