Queens of Mean

Hey girls,

It's Katani. Dealing with QOM (that's short for Queens of Mean) can be a hassle, and EVERY school has them. Right now you can probably think of at least one girl you know who fits the QOM description, am I right? Abigail Adams Junior High has Anna and Joline as reigning QOM, that's for sure.

But you know what? There are lots of ways you can try to get along with—and maybe even become FRIENDS with—the QOM at your school. I know what you're thinking: "Is she kidding?" Girl, I am not. And to prove it, here is a Kgirl list of four ways to deal with those mean girls.

Do the things you love to do. Don't let the QOM (or anyone else!) convince you that your interest in, say, table tennis isn't cool. That's what makes you unique!

Keep some perspective. Remember that QOM put other people down because they might actually feel bad about themselves. Makes you feel a little better to look at it that way, right?

Don't participate in gossip. This might seem obvious, but just like you don't deserve to be gossiped about, other girls don't either. And that includes the QOM.

Talk to a trusted adult. Your mom, your grandma, a teacher—anyone you usually go to for good advice can help you out here.

2. Don't start a fight...No matter, how weak you think they are...DON'T!!! (Because they'll always have back-up)

And DO: Try to have you're CLOSE friends back you upon this.
2. Tell a teacher (Only if it gets too out of hand)
3. Tell a parent (Only if things get too blah, blah, blah...
4. Transfer schools (ONLY use as a last resort. That means only as a last option)

There is a mean girl at my school and I HATE her! First she acts all nice and pretends to be your friend and then she and her equally mean best friend make up a totally mean rumor you. They said that since I broke my leg I want all the attention I can get. And I do not want all the attention they do (They wrapped ace bandages over their hands and said they had "broken" bones. Our class totally does not get along! We got in huge trouble today because like 20 people were teasing 1 kid! Then one kid jumped on his back. Some kids were hurt do bad that they had to go home! My tips to avoid queens of mean are:
1 don't tease people for any reason (not to try be funny either)
2 don't gossip
3 stay away from fights and definitly do not start one smilies/angry.gif

1.Queens of mean gossip, right? All you do is act cool, think of the mean things as complments!
2.QOMs do try to act cool but deep inside there just sad and got nothing to SMILE about so they take out thier anger on you!So really your the muture one because you speak out your feelings!!!(I have qom in my class, sometimes she acts popular but no one's perfect)!!
3. Ignore them! They wanted you to have a bad day if your smilies/grin.gif

then they won't bother you!
4.Tell a parent, gardian, or teacher. Your teacher can help by talking to the QOM"S parent!!!

	Just ignore them and act like they don't bother you. Being mean back isn't going to solve anything. Just ignore them, they'll get bored, and leave you alone. If the teasing and insults gets out of hand, tell an adult. No one deserves to be treated badly.

	To deal with the Queens of Mean you should just ignore them. If that won't work then you should ask them to stop. Then you should tell an adult if it doesn't stop. One thing you should never do is talk about them or be mean to them because then that shows that you are no better than them.
