Bonjour!

My mom and I would just like to let you know how grateful we are for the opportunity to go to Paris. It was a magical and amazing adventure for both of us. We will have this shared time to always remember.

We got to tour and explore the City of Light and see many of the places Charlotte saw in the book
Charlotte in Paris. After landing at the Charles de Gaulle airport, our driver, Olivier, greeted us and took us to our hotel, giving us a personal tour of the city as we went. We saw the Sacré Coeur on the top of the hill as we sped by many French car factories. As we approached the center of Paris, Olivier was good to point out the Eiffel Tower in the distance. We soon arrived at rue du Dôme, which is the street where the Hotel du Bois is located near Place de Victor Hugo. The hotel was old, but beautiful and charming. Our room was on the third floor when we opened our window, we could lean out a bit and see the Arc de Triomphe which was lit at night and very beautiful.

Our second day started with a bus tour through all the famous sites in Paris. The bus stopped at the banks of the
River Seine for a boat ride down the river. We went under many very old, ornate, beautiful bridges. My favorite bridge was one with many gold carvings, the Pont Alexander III, which is a bridge built in the 1800s. On the Seine, we floated past the Cathédrale Notre Dame (Notre Dame Cathedral), Musée du Louvre (the Louvre Museum), and many amazing architectural sites. Our boat stopped just in front of the Eiffel Tower. Going up the elevator on the Eiffel Tower to the lookout was fun as it went up and sideways at the same time! Along the way back to the hotel, we saw the U.S. Embassy, as well as many haute couture fashion shops along Place de Victor Hugo. We stopped in a little bakery for a fresh, hot baguette and then to a cheese shop for the best fromage we have ever had!

The third day was spent walking down the
Champs Elysées going into every shop including the French Disney Store. We walked through the Jardin des Tuileries with its many fountains and sculptures. On the way back to our hotel, we found the Glacier Berthillon. We went in and had the BEST ice cream I've had!

We can't wait to go back to Paris and see all the things we missed. Next time we want to go to the Picasso museum and spend at least one day in the
Louvre!

Thanks Beacon Street Girls for sending us to Paris!! I hope you continue to give other girls the opportunity to see the world as I have!

Your friend,

Avery
